Local servers

 I just finished playing Source with my cousin who's on flow..  The pings stayed around 60ms and the game was very playable .
   Hamachi seems to be necessary as i couldn't connect to his internet IP unless we were both on hamachi  , but he had to set his CS server to 'SV_LAN 0' to allow non local ips to join the game . 
   I believe now that Flow is handing out 1mbit upload packages , it is finally possible for us to host fairly large and reliable local servers .
   A game like unreal tournament 2003 only needs a stead bitrate of between 5000 and 7000 for good play.. thats 5-7k upload . Ideally a server with 1mbit upload should allow us to host 20 players on most FPS games.. CS source, Halo  , maybe battlefield .
      I'd like us to start organizing ourselves to make this a reality , all we need is to make sure everyone has hamachi and the same versions of the games we want to play , set up regular times to host the server if it can't be left on 24/7 , and we'll be golden.


Got COD4 to work , needed to get a hacked server patch , turn off windows firewall , and direct connect to the hamachi IP in the console .
  Pings went up to 100ish with a touch of lag.. seems 8 o clock is peak time for TSTT and bandwidth .. pings to google for me are up to 220ms atm .

 Update to Patch 1.4 , get hamachi and join network Trinimc , password trinimc , we supposed to sweat tonight .

 when the game actually goes up , put the hamachi IP of the host in Cod4's  and use the 'connect' command..

 Whoever serving please pm me, make sure firewalls off , ports forwarded etc.

K the hamachi network is full but more people want to play.. i'll have to delete guys who aren't on at the moment to accomodate them , add me on msn to arrange things properly if you got deleted.
