Starz, Showtime & TMC no more!!! HBO & Cinemax gone too!!!

Well people, we all knew it would happen eventually. FLOW has removed Starz, Showtime and TMC from their lineup. What do we get instead? An HBO package (HBO Caribbean, HBO East, HBO West, HBO Plus East, HBO Plus West, HBO Family East, HBO Family West) and a Cinemax package (Cinemax East, Cinemax West, Cinemax Prime East, Cinemax Primes West). They're free for December, but from January you gotta pay. Oh, if you haven't noticed, the original HBO and Cinemax are gone too. Time to dump FLOW and go wit meh locals yes?

When I saw those channels on this morning I immediately did the check and it was true. Those are the exact same HBO and Cinemax channels that are on DirecTV (we have both) sans the spanish subtitles.
Just so you know, this essentially means that it takes a further 6 months to a year for anything to be shown on it. I'm sure everyone knows the tule that basically a year after the movie is out HBO etc will start showing it? Well for the Latin American movie channels tack another 6 months to a year on that.

Well apparently FLOW was stealing the signal for those stations. So when they found out, they banned FLOW from using the stations indefinitely.

Flow came in to change all that to legal cable....


Aye we might switch to directv now...
+ You get nice crisp digital tv...not this chupid fuzzy analogue tv....

They didn't ban flow, they can't ban them technically.
But they did pressure them to use a legal signal and pay licensing fees. Which meant going through HBO Latin America, which nets us the same package as directv.
Because HBO USA doesn't legally allow their signal to be used outside america. It's American for american consumption as far as they're concerned.

Cable rates go up because flow is now paying for the channels as per their licensing agreement with HBO, so we pay too.
