Yeah man I really want that battery life and the built in BT is a plus, don't really want to have to use meh usb dongle for that anymore.

Lol Arc yuh know based on your "Arcman Approved" status of the MSI Wind I nearly went out and got one of those but then this HE1000 caught meh eye. It is great to see the prices fallin on these lil systems and at the same time features just keep growing...

Do yall have that issue with the battery discharging over a few days even when the machine is not in use?

^^^

I use my lappie so often on a daily basis I doubt that I will see such an issue, even if it does exists.

I usually get about 4 hours and 15 minutes battery life with wifi and bluetooth on and the screen set to 2 notches above lowest. Take off bluetooth and it jumps to just under 5 hours..

Yeah, it was approved till I actually played a movie without my headphones.
The external speakers on the Wind is the only sore point, but then I usually
watch movies using my wireless headset anyway.

I would officially adopt one of these, once the models with the Nvidia switchable graphics option comes down in price  (say below $450 US)...

Until then, I am using one, it's pretty good for what it does, but the GMA950 video chipset is a pretty backwards option, so at least the ION chipset is giving these devices a little extra oomph, especially for HD video playback.

I guess but I probably won't be using this with a larger external display, don't really see the benefit of HD video on a 10 inch screen... :p

Can you say 'Optical Disk Drive'?

Another new Eee PC is on the horizon.  This one packs a DVD drive though.
The line between netbook and notebook is becoming blurred.

Again...thanks to Asus. :)

Latest Eee PC 1008HA has style but sacrifices a lil on performance and a higher price.

....I dont consider anything over $375US a netbook.....I will say it again. These companies straying extremely far from what the netbook was originally meant to be...a CHEAP and SMALL alternative to a full fledged notebook.
Guess who's back. Not me. :|

hahahhahahah @ The dream of owning a keyboard embedded with a full-blown PC running XP on an Atom N270 processor and 5-inch, 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen display/trackpad is nearly upon us. A dream, quite honestly, nobody had prior to seeing the reveal of the 2-pound Eee Keyboard prototype at CES in January.

This is just hilarious.

I dunno how useful a keyboard pc would be. Though they are trying to get wireless monitor support in there. They could then be onto something take ur keyboard and ur pc to any monitor in the future with wireless connection.....

It is interesting though 5 years ago a 10 inch laptop with integrated everything from a Sony etc would have been real $$$. It woulda be marketed as an ultraportable and you would have paid a premium for that.

Asus again.  Now the size goes to 11 inches...

Personally, I think the specs should step up to match the increasing sizes.  These things shoulda be getting
dual-core Atoms or Pentium Dual Cores in em already, but then, that would drive the price up into actual
notebook territory.  Still, the 1366 x 768 resolution sure is nice.

Not to mention battery life. I would actually like to see battery life going up and not down....the 8+ Hours in my 1000he sure is nice :)

11 Hours in that new model could be even nicer :)
