TSTT Blink broadband
« on: November 03, 2007, 11:38:59 PM »
Well, I was surprised today around 6:00PM when I received a call from TSTT informing me of their receipt of my application for Blink.

"Good evening sir, this is TSTT calling to inform you that we have received and processed your application for blink broadband."

"... what???"

"You applied for blink on the 5th of October, yes?"

"That's correct."

"Well, you should be getting your service within 4 -6 weeks . . ."

of course at that point I was ready to cuss, I mean, 4 weeks more or less done pass, why another 4-6 weeks?

"... 4 - 6 weeks of your application, which was October 5th, 2007."

"OR HOR! Well that's cool, what speed will I be getting?"

gets put on hold, "2Mbps sir."

"Thank you very much, good bye."

WOW, is all I had to say after that. I mean, a pleasant CSR, on a Saturday evening @ 6 o'clock, WTH!!! So, I'll start the blink thread off like that, and I'll be sure to post results as soon as I get my 'upgrade'.

Later for now.

I was shocked at the whole 4-6 weeks thing. If you're going for the higher speed packages then maybe they don't have the stuff but a friend of mine was applying for the lowest one (256 down) and they tell her 4-6 weeks. My reply?
"Uhh...you tell them you'll install yourself right?"
*nod*
"Uhh...they takin 4-6 weeks you hand you a filter and a modem?"
*nod*
"...right"

You don't have to take it on contract, but then you'd have to pay for the modem :P

So fellas I blinked today and found a technician at my door bearing a paradyne modem and tidings of faster speeds. So i'm running @ 1Mbps now. Its supposed to be 2Mb cuz that's what I signed up for, but when I called them they said I signed up for 1....WTF? Anyway. They said within a couple working days i'll have my 2 Mb.

Please post your location when you get blink, along with a Speedtest

FYI  came across this one recently, lower tech than the actual Speedtest.net
