So as some of you know im living in San Diego, California.unless you living under a rock you should know Cali kinda on fire. The fire is about an hour from where im living. I was hella worried monday night incase i had to evacuate. But it seems things are kinda getting under some sort of control. On a good note im living right next to the Chargers (football team) stadium which is the main evacuation areaIn other words I think im in a safe zone so I wont have to move. Boy it is a scary experience watching this place burn so oui. You walk outside and is only orange and grey sky from ash and smoke all over the place. The air has a faint scent of smoke but not as bad as some areas.San Diego is well known for aircondition weather, staying in the low 20's and teens all the time. These days it up in the high 30's. It eh no problem for a Trini but some of these people here under presha.Feeling sorry for some of the ppl here losing homes an ting. Remember we governor is the Terminator. Funny thing is everyone here REAL like him dred....and they find he doin a bess jobGood news is that the stadium is not a Katrina incident. Midway Evacuates San Diego Office due to Wildfires Firefighters continue to battle flamesThe terrible wildfires in Southern California continue to wreak havoc on the landscape. According to CNN, 15 wildfires have scorched more than 400,000 acres and forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes. One person has died and at least 70 more have been injured. While the safety of the people is of utmost importance, the blazes have also affected businesses in the area. A Midway spokesperson has confirmed to GameDaily BIZ that all employees had to leave the video game publisher's San Diego office. "Our San Diego office has been evacuated and the majority of Midway's staff out there is working from home. We hope to have the office back open by the end of the week, but it all depends on the situation. Our thoughts are with them," he said.Midway is hopeful that this situation will have zero impact on their product development schedule. For now, development on games is continuing from home. "Our people in San Diego are able to work remotely and all of Midway's projects are on schedule," the spokesperson added.Midway's headquarters are in Chicago, but the publisher has offices in San Diego, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, Austin, TX, Munich, Germany and London, U.K.
Officials blamed a wildfire that consumed more than 38,000 acres and destroyed 21 homes last week on a boy playing with matches, and said that they would ask a prosecutor to consider the case.The boy, whose name and age were not released, admitted starting the fire on October 21, Sergeant Diane Hechit, a Los Angeles County sheriff, said. Ferocious winds helped it to spread quickly. “He admitted playing with matches and accidentally starting the fire.”The boy was released into the custody of his parents, and the case will be presented to the district attorney’s office. It was not clear if they boy had been arrested or charged by detectives.The fire began in an area near Agua Dulce and spread quickly. It was among 15 or so wildfires, left, that killed 14 people, destroyed about 2,100 homes and blackened 809 square miles (2,095 square kilometers) from Los Angeles to the Mexican border. Seven deaths were blamed directly on the fires, six evacuees died of natural causes and one person died in a fall.Authorities arrested five people for arson during that period, but none have been linked to any of the larger fires. All but four of the blazes are now fully contained.
