Lost Planet ups DX10 quotaFur and Blur head new features listBy Wily Ferret: Thursday 26 July 2007, 09:38LOST PLANET , the lukewarm PC conversion of the 360 shooter, is getting some more DX10 features to justify its existence. The PC game, release a couple of months ago, was one of the first DX10 titles on shelves, and has seen been played to death by many high-end graphics buyers in a bid to get some use out of their shiny DX10 hardware.Developers Capcom have gone and added in support for DX10 motion blur and for fur effects. This means that some evil monsters will look extra hairy and scary, and fast-paced enemies or action sequences will whisk past you in a blur. Crysis-style depth of field is also promised, a feature which also caused a lot of discussion when featured in the Call of Duty 4 E3 demo. The extra effects come off the back of some extra performance the developers have pulled out of the DX10 code and hardware. You can see preview screenshots here at Capcom's developer blog. To be fair, they do look pretty nice. Look for a patch enabling the new effects in the next month or so.
