New multiplayer patch is out, but you must be at version 1.4, as this patch is incremental.  Very small file...only 10 MB.

Fixes include:

Fixed server browser not showing all of the servers

The "hold [ ] to steady" sniper scope hint will only appear if you can use it

Fixed game not recognizing IWDs existing if they are all in fs_basepath and none are in the main/ folder

Made mod scripts able to change stats

Allow developer_script for mulitiplayer modding

Fixed map rotation errors with usermaps

Fixed minimap not showing up in the menu for usermaps

Mod tools will now work with other languages

NOTE: patch 1.5 is not compatible with 1.4. You will not be able to find 1.4 servers if you update.

Hmmm.  OK, I just fired up the game this weekend and realized I wasn't getting into certain servers, and my investigations revealed that I did not have this patch.

So that post was for latecomers like myself.

Let me just say dont always follow the youtube way.It RELLL HARD....you need to use flashbangs alot and just run forward so your squad doe smost of the work.Your main purpose is not to get shoot lol while rushing up when the enemies flashed.
I beat this but only for xbox..pc is easier to play on I think. It took me about 2 hours....on veteran
Oh an when you reach the end MAKE SURE AND GET A HEAD SHOT.
I reached the end on my like 4th try off of sheer luck then shoot the man in the foot...noob me

This week I saw a guy playing this game on PS3 and shook my head at the display.

Those controllers just weren't made for FPS play.

I know guys can do magic with gamepads but still.....keyboard and mouse people, keyboard and mouse.

The Wii comes close but even so, it's a challenge to move around quickly and accurately with the numbchuck thumb stick while maintaing an aim at the center of your TV with your wii mote.

Can anyone here whose played COD on both console and PC say that they are more proficient with the gamepad?

I'm probably the only person who has played both versions, and I'm afraid I'll have to echo NGW's
statements, although I've seen my cousin play it on his PS3, and his skill there is almost godlike.

Even though there's a fair bit of 'aim assist' on the 360, I still suck really badly on this
version, which is why I dread going on Xbox Live, because that suckage will translate into mucho
pwnage of my candy azz.

I have the game for both 360 and PC. I prefer the 360 version and pwn in both. Though the pc offers a bit more accuracy especially in clutch moments when a man runs up on you out of nowhere.

The reason I prefer it on 360 is because I like the fact that all the buttons I need are close together and easily accessible. So I knife more on 360 but hardly on PC cause the button is just not in the right place even after configuring it myself. Also to call in airstrike, heli, uav easier and specials grenades and switching between prone, crouch and standing.

Just easier on the pad. Mouse provides better accuracy with quicker reaction time though. Keyboard sucks.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

interesting perspective. The mouse offers a greater advantage over aiming but the keyboard, while adequate...does leave room for improvement in terms of accessibility and ergonomics.

Something like this should help!

hmmm i'm a long time pc gamer.. and yes i have to admit, the keyboard ergonimically doesn't give u the advantage of button accessiblity like a controller, but the mouse always pwns on accuracy. i like that keyboard Noob, but still to me it doesn't look that much of a improvement form a regular keyboard config.. insanely hard to believe yu cant find a button config on the keyboard that doesnt work for you

i have a different config for almost every game i play except dota, all thanks to the vast range of config choices on a keyboard

i use f for melee in cod 4
shift for run and steady aim
ctrl for prone
c for crouch
b for enter
works perfectly
admittedly the default sucks
but keyboard does NOT suck

Yeah, I'm able to be proficient with a few remap of keys myself but WASD and environs is hardly the end game for sweating excellence.

Philosophical, a lot of the improvement will be in subtleties that escape the eye. A feature like this for example, the ability to map hotkeys on the fly in game.

You see those buttons above the red directional keys over on the left? Imagine assigning one of those to "Numerical Pad 4" to use your Windstick item on the fly in DOTA.

RPG'ers may find use for macros to string together spells at the click of a button for an insane onslaught. (Reminisces of the Alpha Strike in MechWarrior)

The bigger keys and spacing means less miss clicks and a more comfortable experience. Sometimes my fingers would start to fuse together after a marathon Quake 3 session on WASD detail. lol

Be mindful, this is all conjecture as I've never used one of these "gaming" keyboards myself but definitely gonna try one in the next month or two. Aiming for the ultimate home gaming setup.

hmm, that should be a whole thread in itself, to see who has the baddest home gaming setup on the island.

I have used that Zboard with the Battlefield 2 keyset.  WORKS BOSSSSSSSS!!!!
The only reason I aint buy one yet is because the keys aren't backlit, hence my use of the Logitech G15.

Arrow keys for moving, delete for reload, insert for grenade, end for steady aim, cntrl and alt for crouch and prone respectively and middle mouse for knife. The same pretty much goes for all other fps.
