been playing demo for about 2 hours now....

holy freakin cow this thing rocks...this is like ah easy 10/10 demo, gorgeous visuals, great performance, gameplay is same sweet unreal flavour (only thing is the lack of double jumping..hope that fixed in full release....)

ok if yuh didnt hear me the first time.......UNREAL 3 IS UPON US.....

if this demo is any indication, i will be buyin this game..collectors edition even, hell frig crysis, this is game to beat next month....

ok crysis LOOKS good....

but ive played unreal 3 and it looks good and IS good....

till i play crysis ill hold out for unreal as the game to beat...

I doubt any alterations will be made to the double jump at this point(even though this demo is beta). The movement was designed around more gravity this time around. Double jumping still helps in certain areas. The movement as a whole feels more like UT1 than Ut2k4. Dodge jumping is out too, unless you got jump boots(your second jump activates it).

That news have me disheartened now...

AS Berzerker said, Crysis looks good, but you just cannot beat a UT game for replay value, anyone remembers the Demo for Ut4 and how kick Br@$$ that was?

But.....I in so much AWE...

The game looks awesome...took me a 2 mins just to adjust to the different feel of the game..
Its a worthy change...
Stayed up all night playing

A Solid entry for the UT series..
+ it running on max settings (1280x1024 monitor limitations) with my current specs...
And the framerate seems really high...

Anybody know how to check the frames per second in UT3?

You could just use Fraps.

Or if it have an in game console thingy type in STAT FPS.

We seem to have short memories when its convenient. The same thing was said of the original Far Cry when it came out.
It ended up being THE technical benchmark for the FPS genre for a long while, not to mention a whole lot of fun to play.
SO WHAT if the multiplayer was not on par with the Unreals and the CODs. People didnt buy it for that.

From a gameplay standpoint, Crysis has a lot more to offer in the single-player portion. There are those of us that
do not live for online play. Me personally, I want to buy all and play all. It annoys me to read these kinds of comments
from people who don't like, or have not played a certain game, but then make disparaging remarks about it.

Appreciate it for what is.

OK Laertes, don't worry. I'll play it and then get back to you on that.

That said, Unreal Tournament 3 gets the official Arcman 'BAWWWWWWWWW' seal of approval.
This game runs 'baby-oil on buttcheeks'- smooth online, with nary a hint of lag. Kudos to Epic for some truly outstanding netcode.
Not running this game with all effects turned on is BLASPHEMY!!!

Better than Crysis? Hmmmm.....that's debatable. I agree that multiplayer is what gives a game like this longevity,
and lets face it, Unreal already has a built-in fanbase. Crysis, on the other hand, has a ways to go before its
officially 'accepted' by the online community as a bona-fide online FPS 'tour-de-force'.

We shall see, o ye of little Crysis faith...we shall see...
