Any Microsoft Access wizz kids?

I'm building a DB for school project, i'm getting through but certain things (calculations in particular) are a pain. Anyone can help a brother out?

Actually I figured out the calculations part, just need to figure out some way to add a search feature via query or something.

Ok and where am I doing this? In a query? Noob here plx help.

Yeah, that's an actual SQL statement that you can use to search an Employees table for records that have a FirstName matching the user_input in the form of *input* (if you're familiar with Windows wildcards). % is a SQL wildcard character. So %ell% matches hello, as well as jello.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish with the database?

Czar: You're giving the guy SQL syntax and he's using Access. Chances are he's looking for point and click solution.

Captain Awesome: There's a nice little search engine called google - use it. You will find very detailed tutorials that will tell you exactly how to accomplish what you're asking for.
