Animae Caribe presents Intro to Maya course

Are you an animation or gaming enthusiast? Do you love Art? Do you find yourself mesmerized by those awesome 3D graphics you see in films?

In association with the Animae Caribe Animation and New Media festival 2007, I will be instructing an Intro to 3D Animation Course. It is ideal for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of 3D Animation using Autodesk Maya Software. The Course begins on Saturday January 5th 2008, and runs for 12 consecutive Saturdays, 9am to 2:30pm.

Application deadline is November 24th. Spaces are limited!

The Course will be held at Full Circle Production Studio at #2 Abercromby Street, St. Joseph.

what you should have done is approached an admin and ask permission to advertise as i am sure this is a commercial venture, and any commercial advertising must be approved by an admin.

i can understand where crixx comming from but i can also see that you not intending any dmg...read the ToS and check back...

I seem to remember GATT being a part of Animae Caribe previously so I really dunno what part of this seems fly by night. Sure he made a bazillion threads, but the examples of previous offenders used are pretty poor in comparison.

Actually, I think you do.

Crixx, sorry to say, but that course of action is not the least bit acceptable.
We at GATT should not resort to those kinds of tactics, at ALL.
From what I understand, the guy posted this same message up in every single forum, and while that does suck and irritate a lot of people, what we do is:

1) Remove all of the excess threads made and probably keep at least one, and;
2) Warn the guy that that's not going to fly here.


If the guy insists on doing that afterward, or he wants to be a moron about it, THEN we do something more about it. But, take note, the most we can do is ban the guy.


None of this nonsense about vandalising people's facebook accounts.
That's the easiest way to give GATT an extremely BAD reputation. How do you think the /b/tards over on 4chan got that way? By doing extremely STUPID crap like that.

Even WORSE yet when GATT is involved in this Anime Caribe event.
If the people behind Anime Caribe learns that you, a GATT administrator, had done something like this to them, what's to stop them from pulling the rug out from right under us and spreading the word that 'GATT are NAZIS!'? Personally, I wouldn't blame them, if that was the case.

So, no.
You will not vandalise the guy's facebook account, you will not make a dummy account just for the sake of spamming it, and you will not end up giving GATT a bad name in the process.

As a matter of fact, seeing as how the other mods (as well as some of the users, who actually CALLED me on my cellphone to complain about this) sharply disagree with this course of action, this case is CLOSED.

but the thing is neo, i did do the right thing.

i did remove the excess threads and i did leave a warning about his actions.

i also baited him with a trap to see if he would ever respond on the forum again.

As i said,  this action was done to prevent further unwanted spammage.

when this kind of action was done in the past, we dealt with it swiftly and decisively.
and no one even questioned it, because the actions of the spammers was WRONG!!
same thing here, action of the spammer was wrong. and it was not accidental.

if we on gatt came on anime carribe's forum and did this same thing they would be hella upset!!!

i didnt do any of the actions i said i would but iam sure he got the message didnt he.

We should never have to apologise or be sensitive about protecting our forums.
