That whole X48 business is just an example of seeming 'complacency' on Intel's part.
Obviously, they thought it would have been accepted wholeheartedly as a new part,
or else they would not have named it so. A simple FSB change does not a 'new' chipset make.
Oh well, hopefully the masses did not take this chain up and abandon their X38 for the X48,
which shows next to no gain in performance across the board.
