need your taught about atlec lansing 641 speaker system i am thinking  abouting buying ...(if this in the wrong place mods please move it)

it's pretty good a system...not as good as the Klipsch and such, but for the price, it's more than sufficient

i've been doing some research on it and alot of pll said there sub woffer died after a while ...now this has me worried .....and its not a 5.1 speaker system ..which i really wanted ..BTW anyone know of any good 5.1 system that sounds really good(but not too expensive) for watching dvd and stuff?

It's a really nice set yes, but I too have read about the woofer dying...make sure you can return it easy if you go with it...

if you want a reasonable 5.1 system, the only one i can think of is the Altec Lansing 251 series, that should run u about half the cost of the 641 setup, and is a true 5.1 system...

It's not that powerful, but it's okay enough...

If you are goin to AC7, the mature audience room would be using the 251 speakers as their sound system, so u can judge it from there if u want a practical demonstration of its capabilities...

about the sub dieing i heard that it was because of ppl leaving it plugued into the wall while not in use and a spike came through the line and zap it's gone
