Saxman's Benchmarks
« on: September 01, 2007, 08:17:10 AM »
Well is about damned time I started my benchmark thread.

Considering that my X2 6000+ arriving by about the 7th September, I've decided to make and post some official benchies withmy current 4200+ first and then bench with the 6000+ after.

If by chance a customer asks me to build an uber-powered system for them, or I have to fix one, I'll bench it and post it here as well (done missed out on two opportunities: one with an FX-55 and one with an E4300)

My next post will see benchies with my 4200 at stock, then at max stable overclock (hoping to exceed 2.65GHz on CPU and 540/800 on GPU,  and cross 5000 3DMarks in the process)
God is dead.

I'm gonna tell you something, Saxman, that you might not know, usually when a man start a benchmark thread, he actually has a system worth benchmarking................

I using an asus board with my 4200 and it has an 'on the fly' overclocking application which i do my OCing with (Asus AI Booster). If you board doesn't come with one, you go have to resort to fiddling with the bios. With the right cooler you should get to at least 2.65GHz. I gonna attempt to exceed that over this weekend.

Have no fear, Unknown. My climb up the benchie rankings will be slow and steady. But eyebrows WILL be raised. GATTers WILL notice. That, I promise you... (cast your vote next to Sax for elections!!)

11781 3DMarks

Proof:

8800GT in SLI does not reap the same performance benefits as the 7900GS in SLI did.

Thanks to SPK for letting me use one of his 8800GT cards to try out SLI to achieve this score.

Specs:

Asus M2N32 WS Professional
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3.00GHz; Multiplier: 15)
Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2-1066 (set to DDR2-800; Timings: 4-4-4-12)
2 x EVGA GeForce 8800GT (Core 600MHz, Memory 900MHz); SLI Enabled
