I was wondering the same thing LOL

I'm thinking at least 600W, modular would be a plus, SATA power, and perhaps one of those connectors for the GPU as well :icon_tongue:

if it doh have a name stay away, it have some small really shiny ones too, yeah, stay way from those too...

if you looking for anything with big name be prepared to pay with yuh blood...
ah man here name mmstt (or sum like that) was selling some 430/560W triple rail corsairs, for about 800-1000.

EDIT:

my brother Pr0wl 's OCZ 600w GameXstream blew thanks to T&TEC .

He says that some place locally has them in stock..

I have one myself , very solid power supply , SLI capable with 4x 12v rails ( 2 is the standard) .

Might be a bit pricey though , i payed 120USD for mine , might cost around 1000tt , but will be worth it , comes with a great warranty .

OCZ honours warranties and gives you personal attention .

When i returned my OCZ value DDR2 ram they sent me back GOLD edition ram that is faster and lower latency (with pretty heatspreaders) .

there should still be good PSUs for around 600tt / 100 US... look for brands like OCZ , antec and Fortran .  Just make sure they are 24 pin ie. ATX 2.0

Look for hec ( zypher ), ocz, fortran, seasonic, thermaltake, coolermaster, msi, mushkin. Bsically if the psu gets both sli and crossfire certifacation ( both, not one or the other! ) it will be decent.

I got a 650w hec zypher from interpc yerterday, they keep some nice high end stuff in stock. ( new 8800 GTS cards!!!! asus striker mobo and even a q6800!!! )

Do remember that the hec I got for $1100 tt sells for $150 us ( I actually paid less for it from them than if I skyboxed one myself, but then Pam always gives me good discounts ).

Also on the tntec blowing the psu, the ocz didn't fry my mobo! which says alot about it considering most times a low end psu would normally fry your system under the same conditions.

So DON'T SKIMP ON A PSU! think of it as the heart of your system ( really! it's a heart pumping power! ) so match the psu to your system so it gets what it needs.

I personally use a 380w Seasonic S12 to power my current Intel rig (see my benchie thread) and a 420w, same Seasonic s12 for the AMD system. Note the low wattage that's pushing these systems (complete with two SATA's, 2 IDE's, plug 8800gts, all overclocked. None of these psu's are SLI/Crossfire certified.

BTW WASD, watch that Codegen like a HAWK!!! Those PSU's are very suspect and I pretty much dont trust them futher than I can see them. I've seen many a Codegen case combo PSUs disintegrate before my very eyes, and even more before my customers' eyes.

Also, make sure you GET A GOOD UPS, or TTEC will bugger you with their legendary performance.
The APC ones tend to be the best performing: their batteries last longer, and the provided monitoring
software is second to none.

VERY good point Arc, but what i've found is, go way over size with the UPS, cuz these monsters we build draw WAY more power than the average Joe pc!

What they said.
I'm using an APC 725VA UPS with my system, it pushes my beast with a 19" CRT for about 10 - 15 minutes...
