Xbox 360's Red RIng Of Death Comunity
« on: August 24, 2007, 11:16:17 AM »
Well people just like 40% of console player around the globe I decided to invest my hard earn money in a XBOX 360 and got the RROD on my console, I guess this is for the many other players to come to have a space to know what to do, what are the possible solutions localy and how much would it "really" cost to fix their precious Hardware
Any suggestions or personal experiences will be of great help and please dont come here to dis out the 360 because there will be resented owners passing by

Dis all you want I'm pissed with microsoft

I've gotten the RROD 1.25 times... meaning one was the complete RROD and the current one is actually only a 1/4 RROD... considering the RROD is actually only 3 of the 4 quarters of the circle.. technically I have gotten 1.333333.... RROD... sending back the latest one with meh cousin, now he'll have to send the 2 back for RMA...

better processor = better cooling
better heat sync as well.
and the 360's come with HDMI outlets as well.....nice

you dont need the elite to get those though. the white 360's coasting it to. FYI the first release of Elites have the same internals as the "normal" 360's that people are complaining about.....so wait a while if you want to buy in Trini....or have whoever order a new one.

Just letting you know I got mine fixed by Microsoft in April, they took 2 days to fix it. It failed less than a month after that. I got a guy down here to look at it (JK no longer fixes 360s since every one they fixed has failed)
When he opened my "fixed" system, all microsoft did was put 3 pieces of sticky cardboard to prop up the board to prevent warping. Unfortunately it warped again and I did not want to waste time sending it to fix again. The guy clamped down the board here, added more fans and used arctic silver 5 and it started back working for a week or so. It stop working again so he is trying to fix it better right now.

I am probably going to buy an elite if this doesn't work out.

Halo 3 ftw.

I totally agreed, after my experience I'm selling the crap out of my 360 and buying a PS3, "defective Console" my B@11$, there is no way they couldn't see more than 100 consoles Failing, this was reckless form Microsoft and it really makes you go other way for your Gaming, I mean, there is people getting the ring after sending it to Microsoft, come on, you could only be so loyal, I said it once and I'll say it again F@#$ Microsoft!!!!!

I had no idea this red ring error was so common. I mean if so many ppl down here are getting it, what is the number of defective consoles in the states like?? I think this is why for this Console generation I'm gonna sit it out and stay with the PC. The 360 defective rate seems too high for me to take a chance in it, the PS3 doesn't have much games I really want to play and I think the Wii is crap.

PC for it!

The failures will stop (hopefully) when they start sending out boxes with the new 'Falcon' CPU.  I say, wait until Christmas or
early next year to buy a 360.  Of course by that time the game library will be rather extensive.
