*unknown walks into thread, reads last reply, looks down at that demo-playing-noob with contempt*

Graphics are nice, but IMO, nothing to get your panties in a bunch so. D1RT easily gets my vote for game with best graphics. It is the GAMEPLAY however that is freaking awesome!!! My lord. So many possibilities, so many ways to interact with your surroundings its just CRAZY!!!

What are you guys doing about your little sisters? I'm rescuing them, they're so tiny and cute (in a very creepy way) I cant bring myself to harvet them.

Seeing that I just started, I think I'm gonna kill the little bastards muhahahaha.

Dunno yet, IMO, dirt, its really up there, but it is a racing title and easily the best looking one i have ever seen.
but the lighting, blood splatter effects, shadows, water and even just the player's hand looks on another level with texturing, I mean
at the start of the game the flames on the water with the reflection on the water surface and the water droplets on your
screen, that sent me crazy.(best flames since fear which had the best flames since half life 2 etc.) It really cheered me up after a hard week of work(catching my nenen using zend framework for the first time).

From this title, all games should be made on the unreal 3 engine, because to get that kind of graphics without sacrificing performance, hell yeah (all setting high including force dynamic lighting, 1440x900, vsync on ~60fps).

Now I am going for medal of honor, airborne. I will really like to see what kinda graphics we have there.

Man call me a noob for playing a demo  :crybaby2:

Thing is Bioshock was the first "next-gen" title I ran on that new ATI card I bought...

And for the first time have I ever seen graphics like that on my PC..it twass amazing...
not nearly as impressive as cyrsis....duh...
but very very high...

As for DiRT....it pretty yea....but i just don't like the gameplay...
I actually prefer Motorstorm's graphics on PS3... yes I've played both...

Enjoy the ride.  I hope you realise that you will have to upgrade that X1950 by next year eh.....

5 to 8 degrees difference - be glad it supports widescreen really. Unlike say, bf2/2142.
Vertical action isnt' something to raise qualms about usually. Now shooters like quake 3, unreal tourney have vertical play as a criterion for grading levels because it's not the easiest thing to implement in a game. i.e. It's easy to put a ledge out to give someone a higher ground to shoot from. It's not as easy to subtly have the player (in a realistic level - e.g. say, a factory) visually attracted to another level of the vertical axis because a story is unfolding that way. Prey did it pretty well. Do it too often and the level can feel like an artificial deathmatch. And even many of those levels get ripped for little/bad vertical play.
:P random text doesn't go out of date does it?

I FINALLY got this damn game to run, and I must say, I take back EVERYTHING bad that I said. (Yeah, I said it.)
This is ONE WICKED GAME!!!  My rig actually leaned over at one point and kissed me on the forehead
for blessing it with such a gem of a game.  Widescreen issues?  What issues?  I hardly noticed.

Apparently the game will not start if you have an app called 'Process Explorer' running in the background.  Who knew?
After I killed it, the game started right up.  Just FYI.

Torrents man, TORRENTS!!!  You really want to deal with a single link for a 6 GB file?
Then you better hope that whoever providing that link have PLENTY upstream bandwidth.

Torrents are slower, but you can almost guarantee that you will get all the files, free of CRC errors.
There are few things more frustrating than downloading a very large 'single link' zip file, and then
getting CRC errors when trying to extract it.
