NOTE: I'm posting this here since, technically, it is a game people play on-line on their PCs.http://www.pokemoncrater.comNow, I've noticed that this game is getting really, really popular with many of the kids (and even some of my co-workers) here at the library, and, after taking it for a test spin, it's pretty easy to see why.
Basically, this website allows you to do what you usually do in the Nintendo Pokemon games- you hunt Pokemon down, train them, and battle against other trainers (both computer controlled and on-line) as well as vie for Gym Badges (from every single Gym Leader that has ever been in a Pokemon game so far). There are some key differences, though:
-
No Pokemon Centers. Pokemon patch themselves up after every battle, good as new, so there's practically no need for them. Even Pokemon with toe tags on them wake up after a battle ends.
-
Moving. You don't exactly move around the maps in the game like the original titles. Instead, you move around by pressing one of 8 directional buttons on your screen, which moves your chosen character (which is surrouded by a glowing
yellow aura on the map.
Hint: Turn the 'other trainer' display OFF if it gets too confusing for you to see.-
Levelling Up/Evolution is beyond easy in this game. After securing a few Pokemon, I just headed straight to the Gyms and maxed out my Pokemon's experience. Pokemon can shoot up two, three and even
four levels in a single battle this way. Heck, I've only been in this game for a few days, and all of my Pokemon are just 20 or so levels away from hitting Level 100. Also, unlike the Nintendo games, Evolution can be done basically anytime you want (your Pokemon still have to be the correct level, though, so be wary of that.) Case in point? I started off with a Pichu as my starter. In 15
minutes, it was already a Raichu, since I was so very conveniently given a Thunderstone from the start. Ees NYCE.

Pokemon don't learn attacks as they level up. Only when they evolve, really. You can, however, buy new attacks. Be warned, even Bill Gates would cough up a spleen at some of those prices.
In my opinion, it's a very fun game, and you guys should join in on the fun.
If you need to battle or give me a holler, my username is
New Era Outlaw.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a Tyranitar that needs to level up. See you folks around.
