Some real answers from Tstt, currently thee are some "Problem" areas that need to be resolved before they roll out the 512k upgrade. Many in some areas ( WEST!!) already have 512k, others in areas ( south, east ) need their exchanges upgraded first.

When this is all done they will upgrade across the board, officially to 512k.

no fixed time line either.

By the time we get this fabled "512Kbps" upgrade, it'll still not compare to what Flow is offering

We'll be looking for our lines to get to it's maximum 1.544Mbps (and by then, ADSL2)

weak tstt here bring :(

If we have to wait on them to 'upgrade' their exchange... that could take more than 2 years if their service to even CORPORATE customers is ANY indication of their 'timely' service BAKAS ALL of them. Lemme give you a first hand example of how TSTT does operate:
day 1: TSTT installs a RJ48 cable for a leased circuit, when done, don't tell anyone what exactly has been completed but leave none the less
day 4: TSTT sends another guy (presumably in a different section) to install the RAD modem and splice a few wires off teh RJ48 and connect it to the RAD modem.
day 6: TSTT sends someone (not sure if its even the same guy) to bring the V35 cable they SHOULD have brought on day 4 to hook it to the router waiting on the leased circuit.
day 10: TSTT says they have tested the circuit and it should be good to go
Note this was for an important Government project that the COUNTRY needs, also take note the time lines here are approximate, it actually took over 2 WEEKS just to go from day 1-4 and day 6-10. I put those tiems as it SHOULD get done in that time or LESS. In fact based on what ppl told us, a different person does each step which account for why it takes RIDICULOUSLY LONG to get ANYTHING DONE. Let's try to explain their work model:
1. Require DRIVER to deliver equipment (if any)
2. Require technician to install equipment
3. Require another technician to terminate equipment
4. Require another technician to deliver cables to conect said equipment
5. Require yet another technician to check connectivitiy from their end
6. Require 6-20 working days to give you details about what settings you (customer) require to set up connection
7. Require overtime if you want them to do the job ON TIME if you have deadlines cause you CANNOT get a technician to come before 2PM and they without FAIL will NOT work past 4 pm unless YOU pay THEIR overtime.

That's pretty much their model and i've seen it in work on MORE THAN ONE occasion. So with that in mind (and these are PAYING jobs, a leased circuit AIN'T CHEAP) IMAGINE how much time it'll take them to voluntarily upgrade the exchanges to facilitate 512k??? the ONLY way it will happen is if FLOW start to give them real BLOWS in teh ISP dept and they need to match the service.

Flow's prices are still a bit expensive for my taste. Maybe when they've gotten the terrestrial link to the island the prices will go down (and maybe the speeds go up too :P)

Due to current developments with Flow's planned upgrades and TSTT's leaked upgrade plans, I'm locking this cuz we're most like gonna be getting more than 512kbps in a lil while
