Ubisoft can f@#king SUCK IT!!!
« Reply #82 on: October 21, 2008, 07:56:58 PM »
Unfortunately this game is also infected with the digital 'cancer' known as DRM.
Just read a whole lot of opinions about it on Amazon.  I guess it goes without saying
that this game, as good as it looks, will be panned by many due to the activation restrictions.

WHY THE F@CK does Ubisoft not GET A CLUE and realise that this is HURTING the PC gaming industry!!?  I'm pretty sure a LOT of potential
buyers will now pass on 'buying' this game, as in reality it seems like you renting it.  :shakehead:

According to Ubisoft:

# You have 5 activations on 3 separate PCs.
# Uninstalling the game "refunds" an activation. This process is called "revoke", so as long as you complete proper uninstall you will be able to install the game an unlimited number of times on 3 systems.
# You can upgrade your computer as many time as you want (using our revoke system)
# Ubisoft is committed to the support of our games, and additional activations can be provided.
# Ubisoft is committed to the long term support of our games: you'll always be able to play Far Cry 2.

An immediate flaw in this system is that you MUST be online for activation and uninstallation.

What is my predicament when Windows is fuXX0red (which happens a lot) and I have to reformat my OS drive?
What is my predicament if the uninstall progress doesn't go smoothly? (aka no internet. We all know how TSTT f@ck up when they ready)

It is instantly apparent that this 'revoke' crap will be of NO VALUE TO ME WHATSOEVER!!!

I was willing to 'let it slide' for Crysis Warhead.  At least I could install it an unlimited amount of times, once
I didn't do any 'major' upgrades (which is still f@#king BALLZ).

This is where I draw the line.  When I pay for a game, I want to be able to install it how I want, when I want,
and as much times as I want.

Ubisoft can officially suck my motherf@#king BIG FAT D!#K (and take a HEALTHY lick of the nutz) on this one.  :(

[/end  motherf@#king  rant]

it would have been out proper already, but the noob that ripped it and put it up on the net, spoiled the whole thing. the SCENE won't release a proper copy, just like what happened to crysis warhead. we just have to wait on a crack only release by some other coder. There's one out, but that's for use with a mini image, which is bs btw. but a proper no cd crack would be out soon.

Hmm, to think a major pirate like me intended on purchasing this, POP and GTA 4. I guess this is out of the question and it seems like POP(also from ubi) may share its fate. Lets all hope rockstar keeps its clue and when the sell a game.... SELL JUST THE GAME and not F... UP like the others.

Hmph and to think i was a huge UBI fan. Thanks for the rant arc, and i will have to cancel that order as well

Uh...guys.

Sorry to burst your collective bubbles, but according to users on Demonoid, that 3.6 GB file is not the full game.
Ita actually a map editor with only 4 'levels' included.  If I am wrong, then someone please correct me.

3.6 GB seems awfully small for a game of this magnitude, don't you think?
They are also saying that the real game's ISO should be around 9 GB, and the install size should be about 12 GB

You might want to check up on that...

That rumor about this release being 4 missions only seems false. The game supposedly takes up so little disk space because of the lack of additional language packs being installed.

For the past hour I've been sweating and I don't see anything slowing down yet, so unless that person got some other copy I really don't know what they are talking about.

I just fried a man with a flame thrower and all the grass around ketch on fire so I almost kill mihself lol.

The game runs ridiculously smooth my the system specs I have so I can imagine how the boys with the uber hardware will deal with it.

No it's not fast paced but I love the idea that it's an open environment and you can do things on your own time at your own pace...will continue to sweat this and I think I've done more than 4 missions already.....

And it's about 6gigs installed, I think the language packs are what bloat these things to ridiculous sizes...hence the whining...
