My core contact freezer actually outperforms the Thermalright Ultra 120...its the best air cooler out there to date. If this can't do the job, nothing can.

3.5 GHz kinda ambitious, unless you have a (air)cooler that can actually outperform a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme (convincingly),
or liquid cooling.

Hey, ive already tried liquid cooling, my 8800GTX Sli is actually liquid cooled. I had my cpu liquid cooled, but the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme bested it. And there are maybe 2 air coolers out there now that can best the Termianlrigth, and even so, only by a few degrees, 5,6 etc. But if you lap your Thermalright, it becomes king again.

http://www.coolitsystems.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=59&Itemid=184

If i have to upgrade my CPU cooler it wil most likely be to that. but beter GPU is more important.
with that note, my dual 8800GTX, and 780i board wil be up for grabs }-}

I was going dual 4870X2, but based on current benches, the benifits are not yet worth it.

Interesting thought there. Waiting for one of u all to try that type of cooling out. :)

Yes OCZ Vendetta 2 is a nice Cooler especialy at its price point, but there is a cooler out there at similar pricepoint that beasts it, cant remmber the name now.

Side Note: the 4870 X2 is kicking major conkas

Actually the vendetta2's problem is the cooling fan, it's meant to be quiet at the expense of cooling, replace the fan with the same unit as the core contact cooler ( sunbeam or similar ) and it will equal it.

Since I got this cooler and have tried a few others I will upgrade the fan with a noctua pf120 soon, more cfm but not a loud monster like a tornado.

Hmmm more men rolling in with the radeons boy. And is that a resurgence of the Q6600 I see? One thing though. How come 3dmark 06 reading your cpu speed as 3.8? That eh adding up.

It have something to do with d retarded way Vista reports your CPU Speed, if you look at my screenshot ud see vista properties reports my cpu @ 4.5GHz!!! and 3Dmark takes its reading from there as well, so my 3dmark also reports 4.5Ghz, but OCCT and Coretemp and CPU-Z all report the correct speed of 3.6GHz. Ill have to look into it to see why vista reading these P45 Boards like that

phoenix31tt and matthewhypolite, I think you should move those posts to the Benchmark Summary thread, and update your own
benchmark threads with the pics.  This thread is for commentary on the rankings themselves.

Hook we up nah. :)

it seems for some reason 3dmark is reading the chip based on its stock multiplier

so therefore with my chip although my mult is @ 8 it will see it as 425 x 9 = 3.8
with matt's chip his default is 10 so 450 x 10 = 4.5

but i guess thats not a problem in vantage
