interesting to see that phoenix's rig with an 8800gt beat prowl's rig with a 4850.. ignoring the board and memory.. shows that the 8800gt is still a little power house.

only beat him by 100 and i would attribute it to more cpu rather than gcard... my cpu is probrably overclocked much more... and my gcard is as well

(Psyco Sax): look at them, look at all of them ....

Sax: Who?

(Psycho Sax): all those GATT member who are quarreling about who drop where, and their scores and who have quad core, and who gonna reclaim 8TH?

Sax: I dropped to 12th place in the rankings since these guys upgraded, what'll I do?

(Psyco Sax): I already have a plan...a plan that will become fruit by Independence. Even Rage with his "most expensive PC" will take notice..I promise you a placing of no less than 5th.

Sax: Really?

(Psycho Sax): Baka! do not question my word!! As Arcman would say, EPIC WIN coming soon!!

*snickers*

(Psyco Sax) & Sax: MUHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
God is dead.

Sax: Hello?

(Psyco Sax): What do you want, weakling?

Sax: Captain Awesome told me today that I'll never overtake him in the rankings.

(Psyco Sax): Foolish one!! You dare doubt my knowledge and expertise?

Sax: No, sir!

(Psyco Sax): Didn't I tell you EPIC WIN is coming soon?

Sax: Yes, but he has a insanely overclocked E4300 and has a quad core coming soon!

(Psyco Sax): Quad core? He's buying a QUAD CORE?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
It won't matter. Let him buy his "quad core". The die has already been cast. He'll be PWNT faster than an EmpireKing post on Trini Tuner.

Sax: Poor EmpireKing. Yay, I gonna overtake Capt Awesome's score!!

(Psyco Sax): Now, be gone from my essence, foolish one! Let EPIC WIN begin..
God is dead.

All, please take note of the new addition to the guidelines in posting your results. See first post of this thread.

What i'm talking about? In particular, the part about listing your exact clock speeds in your results. (Mods & Admins, take note)

i dont think the cpu has such a significant impact on the 3dmark scores...
the major difference is the gcard

while scores are a major part of the thread its isn't all we look at.
How well you o/c is just as important as how high your rig can score.

And if that were taken into consideration then cap would be the King and we, the Pwns.

case in point look at the scores for the CPU here:
http://img247.imageshack.us/my.php?image=3d2mf5.jpg
http://img388.imageshack.us/my.php?image=capture31072008230048hb7.jpg

cap awe managed to score a 1000 under a quad with a bottom of the barrel dual. while he couldn't possible hope to best a quad, he not exactly crawling either.

anybody could buy some nice parts and score high, at stock my rig at that time bested his, he come back with some devious o/c's on his system (v/c 32088GTS @ that time) and best me again, and doing so with so called less powerful parts to boot.

if you look at it $ for $ he come out better than most of us.

power is no replacement for skill.

Woi woi ah getting big up yes.

*bows*

Alas, the dual core life has been fun, but my q6600 arrives today, along with a top of the line cooler. Needless to say, only those with dual 48xx setups will be able to escape my wrath. Even the dual 8800 people should watch out.

BTW, HD4870x2 reviews are out and they seem to be just around the corner.

3.5 GHz kinda ambitious, unless you have a (air)cooler that can actually outperform a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme (convincingly),
or liquid cooling.
