New Catalyst 12.1 preview driver out.

As expected, slight increase in performance...

ah boy, time to increase my lead in the leaderboard.

+1

yeah OC, I noticed that with my scores as well.

Vantage seems to be more CPU dependent while 3dMark 2011 harnesses the GPU power.

Makes sense, since it pushes more pixels and dx11 features.

Ah boy... 'cheaper' X79 CPUs on the way:happy0203:

Now is just to wait for the cheaper X79 boards.

Hooray for 2012.

Replaced all four fans on my H100 with Cooler Master Excaliburs.....

I think these might just be the best 120 mm fans I've come across, in terms of raw airflow versus noise.
85 cfm @ 2000 rpm with just 30 dB of noise is seriously good performance.

30dB is equivalent to a quiet room.  At max rpm, you literally cannot hear these unless you put your ear
right up to it.  In any event, I can't hear them over all the other fans inside the case.

These fans are SO good, that I was able to remove the TWO 200 mm fans mounted over the rad.
They were probably interrupting the Excaliburs' airflow anyway.  :laughing7:

...and the best part?

I actually noticed a slight drop in overall idle and load temps (and by slight, I mean about 2 degrees C).
My 4 GHz overclock is in safe hands for now.  :happy0203:

The only black mark against them though is the presence of the 'posts' at the four corners.
Depending on how you intend to mount them to a radiator, they can be a real p.i.t.a. to install
unless you have screws that are long enough.  Fortunately, that isn't an issue with the H100,
but I did have to get a little 'creative' when I attempted to actually mount the rad with all
four fans already attached, but I eventually got it mounted properly...

H100 owners...you need these like Arcmanov needs pr0n. (troll)

yes vitue
that is where the cold is.

think about it, hot air isnt from inside the case, outside is..

however, if outside your case is hotter than inside..

meet me at GB later, i will take it

captainchris is totally correct.

I have found the operation of this H100 to be way more efficient if you have the fans pulling in colder air from outside.
If you have your exhaust fans set up properly, and they are sufficiently powerful, then you wont have to worry too much
about your inside case temps.

I have a 140 mm rear fan and a 200 mm side fan as intake, and a front 230 mm fan as exhaust, so there's no excessive heat buildup inside the case.
There also a space that can take a third 120 mm fan where the rad is, so guess what's going in there...yep, another Excalibur.  :happy0203:

It's a shame Cooler Master doesn't make 140 mm Excaliburs (yet), so I will replace that rear fan next month with one of these.
98 CFM @ 2000 rpm with 37 dBA noise?  Oh hell yes.  :)  It will help bring down case temps even further.

Seriously?

I guess all that liquid cooling negates the need for moving so much air, except from the rads of course.
