So...until I find another mobo at this price point ($200 US), I think this will be my next upgrade at year's end (funds permitting of course :))...

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R

Gulftown support, USB 3.0, better RAM compatibility, hardware-level Dolby decoding, and a layout to die for   What's not to like?
In other words: superior in every way to my current MSI X58-Pro.

I think ill hold out for the next chipset for two reasons.

1) 6 months is too early in advance to plan a mb upgrade, especially when a new chipset could be announced at any time.

2) X58, even with its 'stick on' usb3 and sata3 support is now long in the tooth and dying for a generation jump as it is.

I may not have a choice, due to the problem I discovered with my mobo/PSU recently.

Hopefully my current one doesn't crap out before I'm able to replace it.  I might not even have the luxury of waiting on a new chipset.

Another month, another driver release, another bench...

HUGE improvement over my previous score of 22843.

I'd like to thank the ATI driver team for stellar work with Catalyst 10.5.
I shall do some game tests later to test the uberness of these new drivers.

So I went ahead and 'upgraded' ALL my case fans (except the top 200 mm one) with Cooler Master Y720DCD-25T1-GP.
Got 5 of em on sale from Silicon Valley Compucycle.

Also took the opportunity to fling een a cold-cathode light.

I'll add a front shot tonight.

These fans move 110 CFM of air at full blast, and are WAY quiter than the original Antec Tricool that the case comes with.
Not to mention prettier. :)

Noticed a 4 degree drop in CPU and IOH (Northbridge) temps off the bat too.

Win.

Ah Arc I see you got the fans to work, pretty aint they? lol

phoenix, the fans on normal speed are not noisy at all, they're more like whisper quiet. Cranking them up to full speed is when you hear them start sounding like little blow dryers. As Arc said they do 110 CFM at max speed but they are literally silent at "normal" speed.

They each come with a pci slot fan controller AND each gets a 3.5mm plate if you want to mount one infront of your case or you can just hook them up to like a 4 knob 3.5mm fan plate at the front.

Since they already came with their own controllers and I have plenty free space I just used the pci slots. Hadda be some of the best fans I bought so far if not the best in terms of options/value and ofcourse beauty lol. They're dual ball bearing and not sleeve bearing fans so even more niceness..

Can't go wrong with these fans then...and they on sale, so move fast.

I run em at full blast...but then, my PC is no longer on 24/7.  T&TEC has seen to that. :(
Stil...at full blast, they still not as loud as the stock Antec fans,so thats an additional bonus for me.
