Ok gatter's. I got a little Sociology class going on and i got a project to do.

I decided to to it on Gamers.

So I came up with a few questions for you all to answer (if you have the time......help a fella out nah)

Some are yes and no questions, some you'll have to type out an explanation.

Anyone can post your replies.

I'm doing it this way so that everyone else can see you answers and maybe a discussion might start.(that would be great also)

 Why? Because i can eat im relaxed and i can make all the noise I want .

2.   Do you prefer to play games alone or with other people? With Other People
Why? its more fun knowing that u are beating a real person and not a cpu, cuz u know when u beat them bad they get vex .

Why? Because sticking to one type of game is boring

Mostly at home, because it's more comfortable.
2.   Do you prefer to play games alone or with other people? Why?
Other people, playing by yourself all the time isn't healthy, as well as not as much fun.
3.   What types of games do you like/play? Why?
RPG's, RTS's, and FPS's. There is always healthy competition, as well as lots of different strategies, so even older games can remain very fun to play because of the competition.
4.   How long have you been playing games?
When i born boy...seriously though, a while i think my first gaming experience was duck hunt, I still hate that dog...
5.   Why do you have a desire to complete all the levels of a particular game?
In my case, to lvl up or to get the new weapons or unlock new parts of the game, especially with a new game, you always wonder; "whats next boy?"
6.   Do you prefer playing games on a computer or using consoles?
As of late, the PC, mainly because most people i know have PCs and play on it, so its easy to get everyone involved since we're all on the same platform.
7.   Do you own games as well as a game console?
Yes. I wouldn't be a gamer if i didn't believe in helping, albeit in a minor manner, in the further developments of gaming/games if i didn't invest in some of my favorite titles, and the platform to play it on.
8.   What maximum amount of time have you spent playing games in one sitting?
long,  10 hrs maybe, marathon sweat in ah lan party

naturally, is a good way to beat some vexation/boredom, taking a few flags and frags.
10.   Have you learnt any useful skills from gaming?
gaming is what got me interested in alot of stuff in the PC, hardware and software wise, wanting to know why that new game wont run was as important to me as getting it running. As it happens I'm now pursuing my IT certifications.
Might i suggest a few topics on questions to include?

1. Violence/Sex in games.
2. Censorship of games.
3. Responsibilities of the parents of gamers under the age of 18.

Since it is about gamers, and keeping in mind it is a Sociology class, including a few questions from gaming as it is shown by the mass media, might be a good idea, especially as it is seen by those who do not understand its sub-culture.

Internet Cafe is fun, due to local play  with many friends/family members...

Prefer to play alone, but it depends on the game, some games you just need more people to play with...

First Person Shooters, RPG... Why? you get basically an immersive experience into the game = Fun

Because when you do, you feel accomplished...

Depends on the games.... Computer for certain First Person SHooters, Console for everything else...
(Its 2 different platforms, so can't compare)

Possibly, I dunno...

At home because most of the cafe's around me still running Sof2 at 10 frames a second (they don't install video drivers, FSB on mobo set wrong so the CPU running at 800mhz and thing)

Alone... by myself.. in the dark..........

I'd prefer in a cafe/arcade with friends for most games because it is more fun generally , but i'm not a big fan of MMORPGs.. i like my RPGs story driven and single player .

FPS , like fast paced action , strategy, love depth and thinking though i suck at RTS cause i can't micro, RPG cause i'm a literature student and i love a good story

4.   How long have you been playing games?

since i was 2-3.. since i could pick up a mouse i guess, always had older brothers with a Commodore 64 , Nintendo etc.

5.   Why do you have a desire to complete all the levels of a particular game?

For that sense of fulfillment and to find out how the story progesses . If it is a great game i'd play it over twice on the hardest setting to enjoy the gameplay again.. and for more fulfillment to boast that i beat it at insane difficulty

PC , PC FPS and strategy are better , and we will get Halo 3 etc. eventually..

A few games yes.. a copy of Half Life 2 (digital over steam) and some old games i bought for like 1USD (classics eg. star trek Bridge commander , Star Wars X wing alliance ) as well as the stuff that came free with hardware.
plan to buy a PS2 ASAP

8-12 hours or so , when i had insomnia for some reason..  would be longer if i had my own place and T&TEC/TSTT didn't suck.

yes very much , helps me forget the world for an hour or two and leaves me with the fulfillment of victory . Esp during exams i can barely cope

Lots , critical analysis  , strategy eg. 'minimize your losses'  if a situation going to hell, don't just sit and stare or feel sorry for yourself

   Internet cafe mainly bcuz wen i go i get to play with alot of friends at the same location

     Recently I've moved from RPGs and Sports games to Shooters(FPS/TPS)...I like them because I get to do things(killing) that I would never do in real life

     Unfortunately I dont, Im a bit impatient when it comes to a frustrating level in a game.
