Who plays Soul Calibur well?

well although i dont play it frequently

thankfuly its one of those games that i can run a few rounds and shake off the rusts

isnt it amazing how newbies on the forum ALWAYS come on and ask if their is anyone worthy of their
"talant" and more often than not their are humbled by their encounters.

why cant they be more like the speeds freaks crew fellas and come in politely seeking other gamers and then play with utmost sportmanship and actually have the talant to back it up

I don't think its that per say, some people just love competition and when they can't find any they use alternative means. Unfortunately men like Dan..I mean Mengsk doesn't fall into this category.

He may not have been "polite" as some put it but he's very direct.  Besides, I've seen him make no claim to glory or boast about anything thus far for Crixx to be branding him with many of the beaten down nobodies fallen by the wayside.

Besides, many a time GATT's "top dogs" have fallen by the hands of the nameless.  It's no secret but somehow these things tend to get lost in the history of things.


That aside though, I'll play you.  I think Soul 3 isn't worth spit so SC2 is the game of choice.  Name your time and place.

hey that is my big bro and i assure you he is no newb. I told him i'm in gatt and they hold tournaments so maybe he could find competition there since no one can beat him in the arcade wherever he goes thats all.
he's a cool dude and I repeat he IS NOT A NEWB. only thing he's newb in is the FORUMS.

I wasn't impolite at all, i was just asking.  At least one person still plays hmmm....pm me your cell number or something so i can contact you or whatever, my schedule is somewhat flaky so i have to try to make time.  I prefer anywhere that's convenient to you, since i'm the one seeking out the competition.

Those who assume i'm a newb because i made this thread, are welcome to invite me to play you as well to see for yourself. This is all in good fun for me, since it's pretty much the only game i play.  Those who are are fans of the game will probably know who i am if they visited Trincity mall arcade a while back when the game was newer.

I love soul calibur and will be happy to run you a few rounds. Version doesn't matter to me.

Crixx and imperial should provide a good fight. They have been good challengers in namco's finest.

Got another friend, Nicholas, who came down to GATT and beat me 50 - 40. Got a mean Mitzurugi. Pretty rounded player.

Another beast is Graeme, also a killer defensive mitzurugi.

My name is Akini and i'm 25. Ok that's it for intro. SC3 is preferable for me, but i've played all of them, so i can still do a lil thing in SC2, haven't played it since sc3 came out though but that doesn't matter.

I'll be honest, i just didn't want to play against newbs, cuz it's a waste of time, and no fun, so i was being direct as possible.  I'm not a person who beats around the bush really.  I think it's ok for me to think that i'm good at this game and want to play against good players. So you definitely down or wha? I'm not much in the gaming scene so I don't know the venues you mentioned and so on...Is java the place near UWI there? if so that's cool, cuz i from the east.

Howdy, Akini, and welcome to here.

Well, I do play a little Soul Calibur 3, but I've really got a lot to learn about the game. I've pretty much gotten the essentials down pat, it's just coming up with a solid strategy that I'm working on ironing out. I'd definitely like to take on the SC crowd sometime (just on a Playstation, though. Haven't really practised so much on the arcade.)

I'm not a person who beats around the bush really.

Wonderful. I have nothing but respect for people who get down to business, especially when it comes to gaming.

I find it even more amazing that you seem to like stomping mudholes in everybody you call a 'newb' here.

As for venue. I saw Virtual Zone put down a Ps2 and a big screen at their GL in Trincity Mall.

Haha, i'm very familiar with Trincity mall arcade, i'm the resident SC champion there.  The mall is 5 mins away from my house so that's great.  If you guys prefer it on the weekend, then the lime will be delayed cuz my next weekends i am unavailable.

I assume that place you mentioned is the cafe?

tech source is closed, and even before it closed we had no cube
so its not like we had chance to practice anymore

where as with sc2 its  a game we know very well and can be competitive in after a brisk warm up
virtual zone could be ok if they have sc2 an 3 on ps
