This my ssd, so thats an idea of what going on in Riad 0.

Arc the speed in Raid 0 would be awesome however no TRIM support in RAID as yet.

If you make a RAID0 ssd, leave 20% of d storage unallocated and it will alleviate d effects of not having trim.

Very cool Cpt, just this week saw a review of that drive with the new 009 firmware. I think I will order one as it seems to have the best price/performance right now.

One bit of advice Cpt don't run too many drive benchmarks as I've heard that some can actually cause a bit of slowdown.

Arc the speed in Raid 0 would be awesome however no TRIM support in RAID as yet.

Word. Loaded up 009 this morning and got even faster read (all be it marginally, still on SATA2) times. Man, 22secs from off to desktop loaded with chrome, almost instant loading of slow coaches like photoshop, more than half capacity free with 2 games and all of my usual programs...this 128gig is one hell of a drive!

As far as I've read, there are garbage collection utilities that can be run in lieu of no trim support in raid (that do not require a format). If that is the case would that not nullify the need to reserve a portion for garbage?

For real. I'd like to see an article to that effect.

Also, here's a link to an article I found for SSD tweaks. I did all of them but havent seen any real difference...so far.

Well SSDs don't have infinite read/write cycles, that's the problem.

However, the MTBF is so ridiculously high, that I don't expect  a couple benchmarks to have any effect before the drive is end of life anyway.

Not like you're going to benchmark them every day or anything crazy like that.

I'll try to find the article, cant remember the site. A few benchmarks here and there wont hurt, the problem is some benchmarks like AS SSD write about 500mb of temporary data. All SSDs even with TRIM support experience some sort of slow down artrophy (a LOT more without TRIM ).

I beleive the garbage collection utilities require wipe the drive clean, not that big a problem for Techies who reinstall every few months. If that has changed then kewl.

I only pass on the advice because it was referred to me on a forum because and when I now got my SSD I was benching everyday, it was a toy  :happy0203:

Yes acronis does work, but most of d times, when i formating my machine, it have new gpu drives, new chipset, new everything. And i does not want to restore an acronis image and install new drivers ontop of old. If i doing ah fresh, i want to put on d new drivers etc on a fresh install, and not an acronis with shit in it already.

Roger that. I myself create images for my machines but never use them for the same reasons.

Arc, look at it as a ROI, when u have a normal hdd with a beastly system trust me u see bottle necks after some time. this SSD makes even vintage systems feel new, its worth the buy!!
