LOL @ hijack...........

The system not looking so bad....Im not to sure on the price.....its a maybe..but leaning more to the go buy it now side.

However I still believe you can build something better yourself..+ after all the sweat toil and frustration and the hurting fingers and maybe few cuts you'll feel proud to game on it and you'll react ninja like with a pirate attitude to anyone who comes near it.

Overall the deal sounding gud to me....

that deal looks awesome...

Is it something you customized online?

If it was me...and i was now searching for a new pc.... I would buy that.... not too expensive... and nice specs... :D

The problem with RAID on conventional desktop mobos is reliablilty. And quite frankly WD is NOT on my list of reliable drives. Should 1 of ur HD fail in RAID0, you're pretty much screwed. RAID1 is for reliability but useless for gaming and 0+1 has the most overhead of any RAID array... min 4 drives.... so whilst you get bragging rights... i've found raid pretty much a lame duck for desktops. Better off getting a WD Raptor <- sure its a WD but it has a better warranty than the standard WD drives.

the reason i mentioned it winny is cause of the test done by tom

u are NOT putting the drives in raid, yur jsut using their drives designed for raid but not putting them in any raid config. Toms said the drives perform alot better than most sata hds out there, giving speeds close enuff to raptors with out the 10k rpm

First Crixx hit we a link to that review. Last review I read was Seagate HDs in RAID0 vs. Single Raptor since the price of 2 bigger 7200RPM drives was the same as a single 136GB Raptor. In that comparison they said the RAID0 array with the slower drives showed very competitive performance against the raptor. Naturally Raptors in the same RAID config would be even faster... but anyways. Hit we a link.

@ Blood: RAID - redundant array of inexpensive (or independent) drives. Basically its the use of 2 or more drives in various configurations that allow for data redundancy, better throughput, redundancy with better throughput, data rebuilding capabilities amoungst other things. You can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID

Try getting the 6420 - it's the same speed, and in the states, sells for a buck more. If they have it that's double the cache, and well worth the minimal increase!

Dell doesn't sell outdated good, but cheap goods. The reason I dont recommend dell(for non-office supply) is because their motherboards are cheap, proprietary bios, and can't tweak worth a damn. Their psu is sometimes proprietary to the mobo and that restricts upgrades.

That said, DIYers will think that's expensive. raidmax isn't solid, no mention on the moherboard brand/series/chipset, and the 8600gt is comparable to last generation's midrange 7600gt. if you feel uncomfortable building one, and want a gaming pc, it's not a bad way to go.
:P random text doesn't go out of date does it?

i can always get someone to build it for me but in trinidad parts will be expensive and even if i order them online they will charge me for each part i ship. if i buy it like this i can just get my uncle to bring it down for me so it would prolly cost less.

Define expensive? You get parts down here pretty cheap and shipping doesn't eat that much out of you since you don't get taxed on Computer parts.

Ummm...have you been living under a rock for the last couple months? Certain computer parts now attract duty and vat...a good bit of parts...and it seems like there's no specific list of which parts attract these charges. One week u order a board, no vat...next week, is vat.
