Paris plays host to Starcraft IISouth Korea to invade France this summerBy Paul Taylor: Wednesday, 13 February 2008, 10:46 AMBLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT is holding its World Wide Invitational (WWI) right in our back yard, at the Paris Expo - Porte de Versailles. In its fourth year running, the WWI will bring together the top players in Blizzard’s stable of games for a furious 48 hours of gaming, fun and the odd eye gouge or two. The date? The weekend starting June 28th.This year’s invitational has extra “oomph” as it will also be the stage for the first public outing of both Starcraft II and WoW: Wrath of the Lich King – so expect masses of adoring fans to migrate to their new Mecca – Gay Paree - in no time at all.WWI also provides Blizzard with much wanted feedback from the community and the opportunity for John and Jane Doe to duke it out with top players from all over the world. Since this is one huge festival revolving around something-Craft, there’ll be live musical performances and even a silent auction (maybe they'll auction off the Ghost-babe artwork).Expect South Koreans to turn up en masse. The country is home to the largest legion of Starcraft worshippers, TV shows, professional gaming leagues, hysterical groupies and where even the Korean Air Force sponsors a pro team.
