Onimusha: The Movie (2009)

Capcom's sword-swinging series Onimusha is getting the big screen treatment with Silent Hill director Christophe Gans at the helm. Production of the US $70 million film will begin in China starting next February.

Says Gans:

I have loved the Onimusha story for years and am overjoyed to have the opportunity now to bring it to life for worldwide film audiences and to access the unparalleled film resources of China to do so on the scale that the story demands.

That's Hollywood talk for it's cheaper to shoot in the Mainland. Onimusha is aiming for a December 2009 release.
