After some tears, I finally settled on an Intel e8400 Core 2 Duo CPU and an EVGA nForce 780i SLI MB.

I re-ran 3DMark06 and replaced my previous result with the new one.

3DMark06: 11,511

We'll start with weather the watercool was nessasary. if you plan on geting a 3.6 OC with those kind of temps, then yes it definately is.
And the X2s gets just as hot, as the 4870s, even more. So these cards run HOT, and doh dey were meant to operate at high temparature levels, i not doing that to my hardware.
and to get the kinda overclock i have on it, d heat woulda juss rise even more. so yes liquid for that card was also nessasary, for those temps.

Also, ive already invested in watercooling a while back, so buying the extra components to add to my rig was not too hard. but that ent say it cheap, which leads to how much it cost.

CPU Waterblock - around 80Bucks
GPU Waterblock - errrr 170 bucks :S expensive no ass, yes i know, but fuh 40 degrees under load Overclocked!!! on ah ATI HOT A** CARD? you get what you pay for.
and wel the X2 it self - 560$ or so.
Thermaltake flow/level indicator - about 50 bucks
Bay resevouir - about 50 bucks.
Pump - about 70 bucks.

Had everything else from previous rig. if you want to know those prices too hola.

All prices are quoted in US and does not include shiping to trinidad price.

ok, me here again...

new "budget/PP" build, new score, i can probrably tweak it some more to cross the 3dmark 16000  :awesome:

and also let me add... for those who do not think water cooling necessary, or dont have the money to spend on it (like me), i strongly suggest the antec nine hundred or twelve hundred. the airflow in this case is so sweet...
@ 3.4ghz OC and i'm 39c on idle and 65c on 100% load (around 50 when i'm gaming)
my gcard does not cross 55 under load...

i dont think the x2 would have made a difference

if they use tri sligtx 280s and thats all they get
their build just sucks
OK.... give it to aileneware they make good cases. but WTF @ 3 gigs of gddr3, 12 mb cache, and is only 19743 marks ?!

hmmm wonder waht's the overclock on that.....

no oc, stock processor and parts apparently
but thats still no excuse
something somewhere went wrong in that build
iam sure we could build a 4k us machine
thats toms hardwares "high end" build and beat that score easily
so what the hell did they do with the extra 4k us?

udcott ahwah?
