Modding my own PS2?

 I was thinking seeing as i have a 40 gig laying around and PS2s are so cheap.. why not mod my own? From what i see i just need the ethernet adapter (comes with IDE) + the ps2 itself , which can both be had for a little more than 100 USD online.
Anyone want to give me tips? Where can i get a PS2 for cheap?
