Now this thread has potential. Here's one that just boggles me, and it always happens when I go to buy something:

Me:"I'll take a couple of that, please."
Shopkeeper:"All right....how much?"

Why is it that people down here just can't remember how much a couple is?
A couple can only be TWO......geez.

Blame the people (i.e. almost everyone) who don't use couple in proper context. I'm at fault here, too.

My personal fav:

"Hey,..let me tell you something"

lol, just did and the person didn't have much choice in the matter.

on a slightly more serious note, sometimes silly questions are asked as ice breakers. small talk.

An innocent example:

Parent walks up to some kids playing Nintendo.

"Hey, you guys playing video games?"

(It's pretty damn obvious that they are playing video games, but it's just an attempt to socialize with the youths)

If one of the kids turned around and said "No ass, we playing hop skotch" is lihixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ihmc.

yeah I agree with NGW on that one. Some questions are just rhethoical ones, without requirement for an answer.

I'm the one who asked that question, so I resent that. I really do. How else would I know unless I ask?
I eventually looked it up on Google and Wikipedia, so now I know. A very simple hyperlink of the word 'bankai'
to said wiki article would have been nice.
