Get dat s#!t son.The 7900 GS is a proven beast (check the official benchmark thread). You will not be disappointed with the purchase. It will handle everything you throw at it with medium to high settings, without breaking the bank. When I got mine a few months ago, it was $212 US, so this is a good deal.
No one is disputing how powerful the card is...its just that common sense tells me that it makes no sense buying a dx9 part now when uber cheap and more powerful dx10 parts are around the corner. Imagine how yuh go feel when a month down the road u see 8600 ultra come out at this same price and 7900gs drop to like $120...not withstanding by the time u wait a while you'l have enough time to make up some more money to get something even better...but whatever floats ur boat dude.
that's the problem... by the time one buys something brand new... it's already 6 hours old and they have a 'newer, BETTER' one on the way! ...i could only imagine how frustrating it IS being a fanatic wanting the latest/greatest/BESTEST parts out there
well blood war you say that you wont be running vista right now but u may want to soon enuff, especially since alot of games are gonna be dx10 exclusives so thats gonna be a bummerplus as he is saying, wait till the 8600 comes out and watch the 7900 gs drop down a further 30 dollars, since yu on a tight budget.
my 7900 started doing some artifact rubbish a few weeks ago.Still hoping I was "dreaming" at the time.Card isn't two years old.
