Well i've just got back from the full sail Admission Information Session ing POS this evening. It was quite good. THe price of going there is well around the 60 thousands per year pluss 1000 living expences for the computer animation program, this program is 4 yrs of work cramed into 2 yrs! There were 2 other schools there as well but i personaly thought full sail was by far the best with the exception of their fees.

Though theirs one thing that was a bit strange though. There was someone in ther front row that looked just like spk i swear! same hair and everything!

They came here about the same time last year and even though I would love to go to the school I found the cost prohibative. Devry seemed to be a better alternative and with Devry you can also do your course online. Plus you get discounts for being a caribbean student. as far as I can recall there are no discounts or scholarships for Full Sail but at least when you are done with the course you are almost guaranteed a job in the gaming/entertainment industry in one of the big name companies.

I know how much work it is in full sail and I don't mind but it's the cost I can't handle. Besides I've already been accepted to Devry and I do find them to be very helpfull. So it takes a little longer but in the mean time I getting paid at work and I'm using the internet free here so it's kinda works out in the end.

DOnt even bother with Trinidad if you interested in game design or animation for games. Waste of time, not recognized and the industry is competitive as it is. First of all you should be a US or Canadian citizen to even qualify to be anything recognised...then you can choose your school

There are a bunch of them. Brown College, Phoenix College and well Full Sail.

here is a good place to start looking
http://www.gamecareerguide.com/schools/

ALthough I am doing allot of animation/video editing and Storyboarding for games in ITT it is not my focus. Its really just to get a background in the industry. My job is that of project management. This ITT degree is essentially a "no bullsh!t" degree meaning I have a grasp on the software and hardware for game development and can steer a project in a realistic. correct and effective direction.

A programming or animating job is of no interest to me. I have my own reasons. Some people love that, i personally dont like it.

Although on one side a programmer, animator etc job will make you marvel at your own work. Watching a successful IP released and having you sit back and say "i did that, i made that character". On the otherhand, although you do create the characters, programmers and animators have no say in production of a game, mostly the lead programmers or animatiors, and even then its minimal. They cannot cause the effect on the industry i would like to make, hence my decission

Those that have read my posts know my feelings towards games. Its important that you dont get lost in the business and still maintain the "gamer" perspective on games. Most developers and managers have lost that perspective, they fail to see the reason why they make games and tend to focus more on the profit. Although it is important, almost vital, I prefer to be in a position to influence the entire outcome of a game by simply chosing a certain model for their development process.

Its  my personal interest. Im fanatical about development and am very much focused on managing an entire IP by losing sleep, missing holidays, even money (although management jobs pay hella good) and other things that people may not understand. Hell as of now ive given up any chance of meeting a "special someone" to marry and settle down with for my career, easy. My career is that important to me. I didnt buss @ss for 10 years to get here for nothing.

Hey shivadee, i've read you'r post and it's been quite an eye opener! I love computer animation but i'm still not 100%sure thats where im heading.   As a project manager what is your roll when it comes to the design team/sales of the prduct etc. But i think u said u did the game design program. So from there u can get a job as  project manager or was that a differnt  degree? What i need is some info on carear choices available with so an so  degree.
