Ok, enough PS3 and Xbox 360 bashing for now. It have enough 10 year olds to do that. On topic: this Home thing looks a lil interesting. I am kinda curious to see how it would hold up with a full load of people (like in World of Warcraft). Let's hope Sony has enough servers set up before they launch this.

It's a given that they'll have servers in place before they launch. They're going beta before they release and it's not as if they won't invest the captial to do so. It's unlikely they'll launch this year, though. So expect a long beta period.

Thank you..lol

Sony knowing that they didn't have a full proof launch wouldn't launch Home with a bad start knowing that its their last if not one of few attempts at regaining its throne...

And they said they launching Fall this year... They said November for PS3 last year and they made that launch..

So fingers crossed.. I'll be enjoying the final Home in September/October :D

All I am wondering is How much more expensive than Xbox Live it will be for this "HOME" thing. The cost of maintaining the Servers that they will have to use, plus providing customer support for that system in place, who do you think ends up paying that bill? Gamers..... Nothing is for free fellas, especially if it is supposed to be quality service. That is why XBox Live is so successful, we pay $50 US a year for it. I bet you Sony will want nothing less than $ 100 US a year for this "NEW" as they call it "HOME" service. We will see....

I don't know about that...the existence of obscene amounts of advertisements and product-placements in a service like this may keep costs from being ridicuous.

...May.

OK arcman i understand your reason for not buyying ps3 but i still dont see anyones reason for constantly bashing it i cant compare ps3 to xbox and as i said if you want originality go with the wii as nintendo always seems to be more original than the other systems.

As for ps3's titles i know there is going to be final fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII Versus ( if you have seen teaser for this WOW! ) and Metal Gear and since ive been with playstation since Ps1 came out it will be sure to have my favourite titles. So this alone is what makes it a worthy buy for me also WTF Devil May Cry 4 and Resident evil 5 :D.

If you guys dont want to buy it im not gonna try to convince you to but you shouldnt try to convince me its bad.

wth?

I trying to understand your concept of not buying something when it comes out...
thise like a rel dotish statement...

What??? so you trying to justify that I shouldn't buy a ps3 when it comes out becuz it don't have enough games?
It have 40 something games out..and is not like i gonna buy each and every 1... I personally am very happy with the 3 games I own (I ain't even play them out yet).. + I rel excited bout the new games coming + Home

What bout the big rush for 360 @ the start which didn't have a big slew of games as it has now???

Quote
Sensible gamers should wait at least 8-12 months before diving in headfirst. ???
Well sorry to burst your bubble..but I'm not a sensible gamer

and I never started comparing to the 360 :|

Boss, i not justifying anything (the english language can be such a hard thing for some).

If you want a PS3 now, well fine, you fix up.  It makes no sense to me personally.  There are no games
that I would want to own as yet.  How many PS3 games you have?  A big fat 3.  Yippee......

I didn't buy an Xbox 360 when it launched FOR THE SAME REASON, so this statement:

Quote
What bout the big rush for 360 @ the start which didn't have a big slew of games as it has now???

means nothing to me.  I got my Xbox in Dec 06, more than a year AFTER it launched because of the robust library
and unmatched Live service, so if you want to refer to yourself as not being sensible, then you stay
dey your big fat 3 games and keep wishing.....

@ Bloodwar, I'm not bashing anything.  I want a PS3, eventually, but the price MUST come down to at least $400 US (60 GB),
and of course, there must be more games than I can shake the proverbial stick at.

How many PS3 games you have?  A big fat 3.  Yippee......

Because I don't want to buy more than 3 titles when I bought the PS3...Thats a bad thing?

I didn't buy an Xbox 360 when it launched FOR THE SAME REASON, so this statement:

Quote
What bout the big rush for 360 @ the start which didn't have a big slew of games as it has now???

means nothing to me.  I got my Xbox in Dec 06, more than a year AFTER it launched because of the robust library
and unmatched Live service, so if you want to refer to yourself as not being sensible, then you stay
dey your big fat 3 games and keep wishing.....

Again... owning 3 games into the launch of this system is a bad thing? Did I say I'm unhappy bout owning 3 games at the moment?

+ I'd expect the millions of people that rushed for the 360 at launch.. at least some of them being sensible gamers... so your statement is thrown against them as well? that they should not buy the console at launch? that they are not sensible?

Same thing for Wii, that we should wait a year after it comes out to buy it? so that there are more games?

lol

Sensible gamers should wait at least 8-12 months before diving in headfirst.  So you'll be sure
to have a great library, and by then all the console's bugs would have been worked out.

Have I complained bout the PS3 library???

*sigh*
The bottom line is ... I have said nothing against Microsoft or bashed the 360 console in anyway... Yet people who own the 360 come to complain on a PS3 related topic... (very mature huh?)

I want a PS3, eventually, but the price MUST come down to at least $400 US (60 GB),
and of course, there must be more games than I can shake the proverbial stick at.

Well if thats your say well fine...
You can wait til the price drops.. you can wait for the games....

But I prefer not to wait a whole year (2-3 for the price to be $400) to buy my ps3 and suffering myself by not playing resistance, motor storm, ridge racer and many other titles out and to come...

I have already purchased my PS3 and have expressed no dissatisfication in my purchase.. I have purchased the 3 games I wanted now and intend on purchasing the ones I want in the future...

So what point are you trying to get across?

The Topic is PS Home... I personally find it more intriguing that XBOX Live.. but thats my biased statement...
You don;t need to argue that its not original...

So what if Sony copied Second Life.. (THEY MADE IT BETTER!!!)
What if sony copied the achievements thing that Xbox did first...???

The fact is..they brought the most high-end 3D environment to the gaming world that facilitates everything we care about!
They have merged second life, xbox live, and Wii's Mii into 1 and touched it up with some NEXT-GEN Graphics...

How is that not great?

Apartments are just the start. They're working on homes, gardens, and "neighbourhoods".

Users will never be in an empty lobby - new lobbys will be spawned, like in an MMO, when the population hits 64, but they'll always be done so that a user is in a busy lobby, not sitting alone and despondant on the steps of the place, sobbing into his hands with despair.

While there's a low limit on the number of people you can have in your apartment (16), they're working on "clan rooms" which fall between a room and the lobby, and can accomodate larger groups of people.

The Sixaxis can be used for gesture controls. Phil gives a cute little wave as an example - wave the Sixaxis and your avatar will wave.

Harrison says they'd like to explore having 3rd-party publishers use your Home avatar in games.

The 3D space Home is built on is being worked on in London, but draws on tech coming out of San Diego and Tokyo, making it a worldwide collabo.

Home was originally conveived as a graphical lobby system for the PS2's online component, but when they thought it was too awesome for that, they decided to save it for the PS3.

(Suffer me to be off-topic for a moment.)

Let me just say this generally. I was going to say it earlier but I just could not be assed to then...but if I don't now, I'll probably explode. So here it is now:

We are on an internet forum. Forums are for discussion and dicussions oft tend to have more than one side or perspective. If a topic is posted  about anything, whether it be a recent devlopment or annoucement or a change in weather, you can be damned well sure that people are going to have differeing opinions to varying degrees. Also, as a result of this being an internet forum, everyone is -entitled- to their opinion; whether it be negative or positive. This, however, does not rob you of the right to hold fast to your opinion nor does it even demand that you defend your own opinion. Your opinion is yours. No one can take that away from you. In light of this, it is not fair that if you're allowed to state your opinion that one person should be inclined to silence theirs. Once all opinions are stated in a respectful and not in a completely abrasive manner meant to demean, then everything should be fine.

No?

If you don't understand this, get the f**k off the internet and crawl off into a corner because I doubt you'd be able to hand real life either. Now again, this is not directed at anyone. This is purely general but before this topic takes this turn I feel the need to mention this.

It is a good move by sony IMO , it will attract alot of mainstream type people like any MMO would but they need to come better than that to make the PS3 a success .

Microsoft is way ahead, they'll be releasing a new model 360 that is smaller , cheaper ,cooler , with  larger hard drive , HDMI and perhaps even built in HD-DVD by the time sony can get their prices down significantly , it'll take more than one game to save them.

u truly underestimate final fantasy fans lol. Trinis may not be as much big spenders as those major countries but die hard Final Fantasy fans would buy ps3 just for that title, and they would get a few more games along the way so it is a huge selling point for sony.
