Oh i vaguely remember that discussion now, but not the final outcome. Did switching your main address/secondary address to your forwarding address get it to work?

They use different shipping companies not the same one all the time. So you'll have to wait for the shipment confirmation from them with the details.

I am so glad to see this thread. I wish I saw it before but maybe my experience will help someone avoid the pitfall know to us a DHL Easyshop. I bought some luggage from KMART worth cost $39.99. DHL tells me I have to pay $133.70. All prices are in US dollars!

If what I read is true... Aeropostal is the way to go? Tell me please!!! I dying here!

I've purchased from eastbay.com without problem in the past. I haven't shopped there in at least a year and a half so I'm not 100% sure what they're up to these days.

One of the reasons I prefer using Amazon is that it allows you to purchase stuff from other stores that don't usually accept international credit cards.

Thanks, I agree with you with Amazon allowing you to access other stores. Actually that's how I used Target before, over the past year or so they migrated to their own ecommerce platform and no longer take international credit cards.

Serious question...because for years I hearing 'stories' about Aeropost.

I've been charged VAT more than once, can't remember what parts though. It seemed more random than anything imo. In most cases they don't. What parts are we required to pay duties on? I'll keep an eye on this.

There's only VAT (no duties) on certain PC parts, like mobos, CPUs and graphics cards for sure.
There's no VAT or duties on hard-drives and monitors.  'HDTV' monitors though, are a different story...they attract normal VAT and duties like other electronics.

I cannot remember what applies to RAM and/or PSUs.  I'll have to check some old Ezone invoices to clarify.

I have no problem with 'hit or miss', or 'random', but it's blatantly unfair that some people ALWAYS get to pay VAT out they ass, and others don't get to pay ANY.

I resent that...I really, REALLY resent that.


So the playing field really not level to begin with.  Can't say I'm surprised though...is Trinidad, right?

I have eZone and my neighbour has Aeropost. On average eZone is faster and Aeropost is cheaper. I think Aeropost uses their own set of custom officers so they can generally get lower custom charges applied while ezone just gets the first available customs officer to clear as fast as possible.

There are no real set rules for customs. They can do whatever they want. I have sometimes paid vat, sometimes duties, sometimes both and sometimes neither on pc parts. Heck I've sometimes paid almost double on item cost and shipping in custom charges.
