Not sure about the others but I know I get the full brunt of customs/duty most times I use aeropost hehe. If I order a new PS3 game for example costing 60 USD I would normally end up paying 20 USD or so in duty :(

How you so luck apprentice :p

O.o

I ordered 2 copies of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood valued $70usd
I paid Aeropost $20TT lol

Same for KZ3.

Ordered 2 pairs of earbuds and that also costed $20tt per box.
(1 pound charge)

I have no idea why I getting away everytime lol

(I do "pre-alert" every package though..if that makes a difference.)

I have a co-worker who uses Aeropost, and has 'escaped' some nasty charges for PS3 games,
and electronics.  He's a gadget-freak like me, so he's always bringing in something.  He just
recently got a new iPod, and if he spent 200 TT total to ship/clear it, he spend plenty.

Apparently that 'pre-alert' thing (as he explained it) helps 'rush' the item through Customs.
They still open it up to check that there's no contraband, but the pre-alert makes categorisation
of the item easier for them.

For example...he recently brought in a Dell Streak, and pre-alerted it as a 'tablet computer'.
Of course that immediately meant, no VAT/duty.  :laughing7:

The more I hear of this, the more it makes me want to switch from eZone.

Lol not so fast eh I've done the whole prealert thing and believe me they do "catch" people lol. Though as you say some people get lucky.

It does just be luck I can attest to this cuz some times u don't get the charges

and other times they hit you full blow (even if its prealerted or not) with the duties

I get hit a brisk 1300 in duties when I ordered meh phone October last year :(

This looks like the ideal thread for personal experience for "skyboxes".

I'm looking to open an account with a skybox company and as i won't be ordering regularly speed doesn't matter, only really reliability and cost.

Any suggestions on a skybox with free/relatively cheap registration as well as decent service and delivery? I narrowed it down to: JSL, Carribbean Express and Trans-Express but any insight offered is greatly appreciated.

There's a Laptop City in Trincity Mall i think so that's a good start. What about registration fees and the like?

you checked out www.trinebox.com as yet lqdsnk?

Been using them for like 12 years.

also, I'm pretty sure we had a thread comparing the local "skybox" services.

If I can't find it, maybe we should start another.

May require updating anyway as a lot of their rates have changed in recent times.

Shipping is free as long as it's direct from amazon, if it's a 3rd party different shipping options will be available usually 3-5 business day shipping.

I've read earlier into the thread and saw that it worked, however; can anyone confirm that newegg has been taking paypal linked to local credit cards/ VTM? Recent experience preferable.

To the best of my knowledge, paypal is no longer supported by newegg and for quite a long time now.
