Hmm interesting point on the data corruption there Beo... I seem to be suffering from that on an nf4 mobo... that aside, newegg does take money orders boy arc. So you can try that method... inherently it increases the cost as you have to pay for the money order, but its an option. Also, for rebates, you'll need someone in the US to do that for you. So you're seeing the inherent problems with this... also I believe that paypal works in T&T now, so you should also be able to use paypal to purchase off of newegg as well.

Some good news:

I signed up for a PayPal account and tried purchasing something small from Newegg, and guess what, IT WAS SUCCESSFUL!!!

HOORAY!!!

So I'll be buying ALL this stuff from Newegg.....

EDIT: Tried Paypal with Tigerdirect as well, and was also successful there.

Based on above suggestions I have been taking a long hard look at these boards:

Out of these two, I'm SERIOUSLY leaning towards the Asus. Its the same price as the Abit but has a whole lot more features.
Is it worth the extra money over the MSI P6N I looked at earlier?

The answer is a resounding 'HELL YES'!!!

The number of features this board sports is staggering to say the least, and it uses the more reliable 975X chipset.
The 3 PCI slots (as well as the on-board COM1 port) is of great importance to me, as I still use a few devices
that rely on those older interfaces.

Saxman meh boy, it looks like I will have to reconsider.

It fits on just about EVERY CPU currently in use, and is rated as one of the top air-cooling
solutions on the market today. Might be even better than the Thermalright Ultra-120.....

I am always concerned with those massive HSFs.... they look like the day your case jerks upwards (say carrying it in a car or an earthquake) they'll rip the CPU socket they're mounted over, clean out of your mobo...

that's why they are 'thru-the-PCB' type mountings; the cpu+socket are actually being sandwiched between the mounting hardware.

WTMC @ fan mounted right in the CENTER of the Tuniq heatsink...... and all the while I was thinking it was fanless or the fan mounted outside... (didn't read on it enough)

Impressive, ya, but as Arc and I discussed before and I'll say it again: Thermalright Ultra-120 for me.... just a matter of personal preference:

- US$50
- no fan supplied so you get to choose you won 120mm Fan ( though some of us will definitely disagree)
- performs virtually identical to the Tuniq
- is lighter in weight than tuniq
- can be mounted to aim hot air at back of case
- meets my artistic taste requirements *casts furtive glance in Arcman's direction*

@ W1ntry: It'll take one hell of an earthquake (7.5 or higher I guess) to cause such damage. (we talking your whole house collapsing an ting here). For a LAN party where you have to transport it hough, I'll tend to agree.... once I get it for my PC.. it stays put... maybe i'll rig a harness to the HSF inside the case.. just in case.

That's why I said the entire socket, cause the way I see it, it'll rip the CPU/socket/pieces of mobo PCB with it when it goes...

I would definitely find a way to strap it to the chasis to reduce teh strain on the mobo...

What is your reasoning for such extensive air cooling boy arc? Have you considered the Corsair Nautilus water cooling system?

Of course I'm going to OC that biatch. It seems the Core 2 architecture lends itself to some healthy OC'ing.
I'm aiming for around 2.6 - 2.8 Ghz. Most of the reviews I've seen indicate that this HSF will get the job done,
at stock, and at whatever CPU speed you bump up to.

Oh and Saxman, if you like the Thermalright Ultra-120, you'll LOVE the Thermalright Ultra-120 'Extreme'.

The difference you ask? More heatpipes, and yes, they do make a difference, as the above review will show.

I'm also considering this case as well, mainly for the tool-free drive installation, but the top-mounted I/O ports (USB, mic, headphone, etc) are a bother, as I do not put my system on the floor.

VERY nice and simple design, the highlight of which is the 14 cm intake fan, but again, those top-mounted ports.....
Thermaltake seems to be doing this with all their new cases which I do not like. I usually like to put stuff on top
of my case (which sits on top of the desk).
