Graphics card problem on a toshiba satellite

my sis just got this lappy, not a bad buy but it came with vista (balls) i install xp and for some reason the drivers not picking up the card, its a 200M ati card, i have the drivers and thing and the south bridge drivers work and install god it is only the gfx drivers f-ing up.

any thoughs on a solution?

p.s. everything else working good found drivers easy but is this real freeting meh...o

Micro$oft Update actually picks up some drivers... you might wanna give that a shot once is a legitamate copy of XP

There is a problem inhrent in all implementations of the 200m graphics chipsets. Basically, it is a driver issue where 3d performance is very limited with ATI's original drivers, sometimes even to the level of poor 3d acceleration. You can try a modded version of the catalyst driver (read Dhozerpoint or some similar one) from www.guru3d.com. Since installing those on my lappy, i've had considerably better performance with no issues.

thanks but i end up just reinstalling vista i eh able, not a fan of laptops to begin with, apparently is not only the ati drivers alone but the sound, wireless, and network, it eh make ah sense, if i put in xp no drivers if i put in vista crappy performance so i just set back the stock stuff
