The Number 23 (no more rubber faced Jim Carrey/ A SERIOUS Jim Carrey)

The Truman Show
The Majestic
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

If not the first two...definitely the last.

(Btw what I'm saying is that he's done serious roles before and he's EXCELLENT at them)

What can you do to end the hunger?
It's no surprise that many will die with the coming shortage of food
When there is no grain to feed the butchered cows
When there is nothing to feed yourselves...
Then you will see that money can't be eaten.

The "serious Jim Carrey" part concerns me a bit, but had I not already had some cemented faith in his acting abilities, I'd be worried.

I wouldnt be worried either cause i have realised that commedians from what i have seen can play these Serious Roles very well, take Jack Black for instance School of Rock>>>>King Kong see what i mean??? I think that has to do with the fact that in comedy they can portray any role they can get into cause its easy...easy cause its funny. My 2 cents and dinner mint..
I am awaken to the glory that is my birthright!!!

Actually I rather disliked Jack Black in King Kong so I wouldn't use that as an example. Its interesting I remember watching on E or some other such channel where actor/actresses said comedy is one of the hardest roles to act and only a few can pull it off. So it leads me to wonder if its easier for a comedian to act a serious role... or a normally 'serious' actor to act a comedic role... I mean if yuh look at things like Arnold doing Terminator then doing Twins... yuh see where things go awry (not that arnold is the best example) so how about Robert De Niro acting in say HEAT (I beleive it was heat) then acting in Rocky and Bullwhinkle... WDF??? So maybe it is  better a comedian go serious than the other way around...

Anyone ever seen "The Final Cut" or "What Dreams May Come"?

So despite the fact that this movie has garnered negative reviews from movie critics...I watched it yesterday (via pirated copy) and I found the movie to be quite entertaining. It's an interesting look into obsessive compulsion and psychosis. Carrey's acting performance was good (not great) and you really get the idea the he had a genuine feel for this character. I think most movie critics truly missed the mark on the type of movie this is supposed to be. I read one person used the word "conspiracy movie" in describing this film. He's, coinicidentally, an idiot. The movie is is a foray into the distubed mind and a bit of a metacommentary on fate. If you have any appreciation for pyschological thrillers you'll like it.

The only thing that was bad....was possibly the film noir elements during the recanting of the novel. Bleh.

Not an oscar contender but still a must see.
