Valentine's
« on: February 05, 2007, 12:39:19 PM »
Give your best and worst Valentine's Day story. Tell what you did for someone or what someone did for you. Also state what you're going to do for a loved one this Valentine's or what you wish you could do (something out of the ordinary) and you can also comment on other's. Have fun ^_^

Ok i'll go first...  My first love at the age of 15 ditched me on Valentine's day . I kept calling and calling him all day but he wouldn't answer his phone. I went looking for him at his work place (he was just 19 people so don't get any ideas) and he wasn't there and I cried like a b1tch that day. I called my sister and told her that he ditched me. I went back home and saw some flowers and a teddy bear.
Turns out that it was my sister's gifts that she got from her bf and she felt sorry for me and gave it to me because I never got anything for Valentine's before. The next night my bf came to my house empty handed and I argued alot with him and most of the time he was laughing. So when he was leaving he told me he wanted some water and when I came back he had a huge teddy bear and some roses and he gave me a pair of gold earrings with my name.
He told me that he couldn't get the earrings that same day because the jeweller wasn't finished, and that he was waiting to get some money to buy me the teddy bear and flowers. He told me he was sorry blah blah blah.

But now the roses are dead, the teddy has been chewed up by my deceased dog (R.I.P), those earrings are lost and my first love is one of my 'ex' now.  To be con't

Hmm I felt the bitterness during that story... GG girl... unfortunately I don't have any big stories... at least that I can remember, thus they couldn't have been that great or bad... perhaps next year i'll have a great story to tell. Otherwise at least we haven't seen any stories like that ad on cable where the guy dumps his gf with a singing telegram cause they were on different mobile phone providers and she was costing him a fortune.... (Imagine a B-mobile vs. Digicel version of this nah LMAO)

Telegram man (TM): *knock knock*
Girl Friend (GF): "Who dere?"
TG: "Singin telegram from yuh man"
GF: "Umm well, I doh feel safe nah, so sing it thru de door nah"
TG: "but wdm...., aight"
TG: "Its valentine day and yuh man send to say"
TG: "Yuh teifin he money, cause yuh have a b-mobile celly"
TG: "He fed up ask yuh to switch, but like yuh doh listen B1tch"
TG: "So fiah fuh you, I done with meh squeeze too"
TG: "happy valentine day"
.....

I've been scarred byeond recognition by love, so I just choose to leat it be right there. Never wanting to heal, never wanting to move on. I just live life everyday normal. A very big irony is that many girls are (i presume) interested in my mysterious motives:

How come I don't have a girlfriend?
How come even though I socialize with the girls I socialize I am still single/never shack up with any one of them?

It's gotten so bad that my dad had to question my position at one point cuz of how I kept to myself. For everyone out there, I do not care. Valentine's could come and go for all I care, but to me it's just another day in the year. So to everyone, have a happy valentine's day, and to all the others like me, have a nice day

Hmm pablo sounds quite broken on the inside... i've said for some time now: "NOTHING brings a man down like a woman"... but anyways, my only words of 'wisdom' on the matter is if thats ur stance bar none, then could I suggest you join the priesthood? (provided ur christian), the church needs new and upcoming ppl to take on that role which most don't seeing as its a life of servitude and ppl today are too selfish to understand that concept. That aside if there is anything in there left to move forward with it'd be that if you turn to stone you'll have nothing to offer someone who may be worth it, in other words its not worth it to become cold.

What can i say, no stories on my end here, wish i could get my current Gf to understand that Valentines Day is a Marketing holidaty, true romance doesn't occurr on that day spcifically. So get it right peoples, a lot of shit happens in peoples relationships on that day due to various circumstances, anyone ever realise that Valentine's day is so close to chrismas? Men still friggin broke or recovering Lol. but say what, people have been brainwashed. Wanna make a girl feel special? Pop up wid a flower or a boquet of flowers spontanieously, she'll enjoy it, if u could afford it that is LOL >:D

well hear what, while your GF waiting for you to try to convince her that Valentine's day is about marketing etc, she going to have to watch all the other girls get roses etc. Women know what Valentines day is about commercially, but they like it! who doesn't want to be pampered and presented with flowers?! yes you can do it any other time, but it's probably good to NOT neglect the day that every other guy is giving their girls something.
I concur

If is two days you MUST remember as a guy, it is these two: Valentines and your anniversary. This is true even if you are not married. Yes, there are some females out there that remember and expect you to remember when you first met. Also, if your current girlfriend/wife says that she does not care about Valentines, it is a boldfaced lie. All females want attention and moreso on Valentines.

lol @ suicide...(i forget my ex birthday. selective memory )

if the relationship strong fire bun expensive gifts for valentines yes, i broken right now, and she understand that. (i might cook something)

one thing I did do one year was buy several gifts with little riddles next to each with clues as to the location of the other gifts. really appreciated it, and dinner after was sweet.

i agree with deadeyes, and while I understand larry position, I wont allow myself to buy something simply for an 'event' meh @ valentines, meh @ christmas, lm a little different when it comes to those things.

Here is my OFFICIAL take:

"Valentines - an occasion when men give grudgingly and women receive selfishly." - Saxman

My experience:
In 2003 I bothered to go though the trouble of buying my gf a name certificate. Framed to boot. When I reach I give the girl. It was a Friday. Her reply:

"Thank you."

No kiss, no hug up, no love up, no sex. Not surprisingly, I had nothing to get...had to walk for 30 minute from her house to reach the main Rd at a late hour in a dejection.

Needs less to say, 3 days later she was my ex...

I share much of Pablo's felling about Valentines and relationships in general.. somehow I have managed to resist the urge to cross over to the 'dark side'....but for how much longer... I am currently disgusted by the sight of valentines advertisements, roses everywhere, couples cooing all over the f***ing place... *hawwwk...spits* utterly disgusting!!

And yet for all my rants, I may still succumb to the expectations of my co-workers/boss: 3 females and go buy some ish like flowers for them, but it go be by rote.... Being a 'nice guy' is such s**t!!
God is dead.
