More importantly what is the price range we talking bout? that ultimately determines what you build imho.
hmm, i personally think using drives as large as 500 gigs is setting yur self up for disaster2 120 gig raptorsand every other drive at 250 to 320 gigs is fine.if that 500 gig drive fails... as opposed to your data being spread across the smaller drives

you know, that raises an interesting question; home backup media has not really moved apace with hard drive space... for a while, yuh could rock some cds, then some dvds.. but until bluray or hddvd decide to calm down, or you wanna invest in a tape drive ( eh,voyd? lol) you either doh back up, or back up to a whole heap a dvdsi still doh feel safe when backed up on the network, or over other drives..that aside, i feelin voyd suggestion with the 2 x36 raptors (though i despise wd with every fiber in my body) in raid 0 and the 500s in raid 1
