Limitations:
I got 6,000 (that has to include shipping on sky box)
the system MUST have an x700 card or better no integrated stuff
512 RAM yea but 1G will be better
Dual core or 64bit don't matter

For a GAMING laptop, I'm afraid that $6000 (TT)is simply not enough.
These things START at about $1800 US eh.

Look at the Dell XPS series.  You might find the cheapest there.
The Dell XPS M1710 is a good choice, but starts at $1799 US.

Check it here: http://www1.la.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xps_m1710?c=tt&l=en&s=bsd

You can also look at the Toshiba Satellite P100 series.
This one however, starts at $1899 US.

More details here:  http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/toshibadirect.to?page=gaming&seg=HHO

So, you would actually have to double your budget to even START looking for a decent gaming laptop.
Those are just entry level.  If you start looking at Alienware and such, well, you might as well have
won a Lotto first.  Them bitches will run you to about $20,000 TT.

This machine is a very decent one but weighs in at just over $7000

http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingReview.asp?Item=N82E16834224054

This is about the cheapest you can get a gaming notebook for these days. I use the term gaming conservatively because the fact is that x700 is an aging chipset and might not perform very well with newer games. IMO, unless you REALLY need the portability of a gaming laptop, a desktop is really the way to go. Not only would your budget build you a SWEET system (read c2d e4300/6300, 2 Gb DDR2, nvidia 8600 when it comes out etc etc) for the same money or less, not to mention you'll have upgradibility.

Dell and HP have goodish laptops for 1100 USD or so with a 7600GS / 7900GS video ( better than x700) 1 GB of ram and a turion/Sempron / Core duo .  6000 is a tough cut to make .

Core 2 duo E6600
Asus mobo
Radeon HD 4770
2 gigs DDR2 667 + 2 gigs DDR 800 OCZ

x700/6600 level is hard on games these days, but i'll byte ;)

with sub $1k us gaming is tough to handle, but here's one way. I posted this on another board.

The only way to get a cheap notebook like that is going for a barebones book and adding your own harddrive, ram, and cpu (which somewhat kills the price there). dont expect much or any support for a barebones notebook.

e.g.
barebones with 6600 - $368 (still not an impressive card, but capable of yeasterday's games, and ugly today renders:P)
Celeron M 1.46GHz - 53.50 (celeron M and pentium M performs almost equally - pentium M's has 2mb cache instead of MB, and offered better power saving)
1GB ram on a stick - $80
80GB notebook HD - $62
--------------------------
$563

wont be bad if the settings are turned down a bit. just remember with ny barebones, call the store and make sure everything is compatibile, and that you're not missing anything - e.g. cd drive may not ship with the barebones. Also you DONT GET SUPPORT doing it this way.

celeron-m pretty much equals pentium-m in performance, with the disadvantage being power saving mostly. half cache really doesnt hurt. If you can find an older 400mhz celeron, the overclock isnt bad.

:P random text doesn't go out of date does it?

You guys continue to quote prices from Newegg, but TT credit-cards aren't accepted there.
So, any alternatives?

^^^  The English language hard to understand sometimes, but the question is a simple one.
Have you even TRIED purchasing anything from Newegg with a TT-issued credit card?  In particular a Republic Bank-issued one?
